My hair has always been very thick and curly and I've had problems when trying to dry it quickly with a hand-held hair dryer. Most dryers take a long time and seem to blow my hair all over my head during the process, which results in dried out and frizzy looking hair. I always resorted to using a curling iron afterwards just to style it and iron out some of the frizziness. That is a lot of work, especially on thick hair.
The diffuser is wonderful on curly hair, which means I no longer need to use the curling iron afterwards. I can simply arrange my wet, curly hair in the style I like, blow dry it using the diffuser head and my curls stay in place while drying.
The dryer has a 6 speed/heat combination and even using it on the highest settings, my hair remained in place while drying. The diffuser head has volumizing fingers for adding lift and volume to the hair as it is being dried. I was able to dry my hair within minutes, did not need to use the curling iron afterwards and achieved a very professional looking style that I was very proud to wear.
The dryer also has a "cold shot button" which is used to set the style. It also comes with a removable end cap for easier cleaning and also an airflow concentrator attachment for those places where you might need a more concentrated flow of hot air. The dryer itself, especially with the diffuser attachment in place is somewhat bulky and it took a few minutes to adjust to that aspect, but the results were so good that I did not mind the bulkiness at all.
This hand-held dryer would be good for anyone with curly hair, even men who would like to step out of the shower, dry their hair quickly and head off to work without a wet head. I believe anyone, whether their hair is curly or straight, could achieve a professional look using this ionic hand-held hair dryer.
My 1875 watt, ionic, professional hair dryer was purchased at Walmart for about $15 which is a great price for this state-of-the-art styling tool. It comes with a two-year limited warranty and also has a hanging ring for easy storage.

as always very interesting work :)
Like the new pic/avatar, Joyce! Your hair looks nice, must have got a new style and/or used your new hair dryer for the pic.
I need a new hair dryer. Thanks for the review.
Excellent price and you included every detail that I'd want to know. I felt like you were reviewing this with your readers in mind. Thanks!
Sounds like a good product. Excellent review. :-)
Thanks for the review. I've used a diffuser for years (when I don't let my hair air dry). I had wondered about the ionic hair dryer. Glad to hear it is worth it:)
I'm like Carol. If I use too much heat on my hair, it goes super frizzy.
I just let my hair dry naturally though
