Converting the Vtech Grow and Go
The Vtech Grow and Go converts safely and easily from floor toy to rocker to ride-on. The electronic driver panel secures safely to the handles of the rocker/ride-on and can be removed easily by an adult. To convert from the rocker to the ride-on an adult can simply unscrew the legs about half way and spin the rockers (legs) on either side 180 degrees. Tighten the legs back down and your little guy is ready to go. The wheels are already attached and are kept safely in an upward position while the Vtech Grow and Go is in rocker mode. Turning the rockers upside down simply places the wheels on ground level. It is advised that while you are using the Grow and Go in rocker mode that you keep the electronic driver panel detached so that the handle bars are accessible for balance. One your child has a good balance the driver panel can be attached and he may be ready for the ride-on stage.
The Electronic Driver Panel
The detachable electronic driver panel is packed with features. It has a turning steering wheel, horn, turn signals, phone and LED display. The LED display lights up and flashes in different patterns to reinforce learning. Letters and numbers are displayed as your child turns the wheel, plays with the gear shift and uses the phone. There is also an interactive voice who tells the shapes and colors of the buttons as they are pressed. And, three modes of play let your child learn songs and phrases, numbers and places, and letters, shapes and colors.
Other Considerations
The Vtech Grow and Go is very engaging with its bright colors and fun sounds. There are only two things that I would change. The first is that there is no volume control on the electronic driver panel and it can seem very loud at times! Secondly, the buttons on the phone have shapes drawn on them instead of being shaped themselves. For a younger child this can be a bit confusing as the shapes are spoken aloud.
Overall, this is a great buy! It is very easy and safe to convert the Vtech Grow and Go 3-in-1 ride-on as your child grows. And the driver panel is very engaging and encourages learning both visually and by sound.
