Product Review: Wet-n-Wild Water Dancing Speakers from Spencer's

The Wet-n-Wild Water Dancing Speakers are a bit of an eclectic choice for those who are bored with their plainly regular computer speakers. These computer speakers are an easy way to spice up your music listening, and can change the feel of a house (or a dorm room!) in seconds.

Inside each of the two speakers, there are four LED lights (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow) enclosed in a clear plastic encasing with a little bit of water at the bottom. You hook the computer speakers into your computer or iPod/mp3 player, and start up the music. As the music starts to play, the water shoots up to go along with the beats, and you have little multi-colored fountains of light shooing up the speakers and flashing through the room. It's like an instant water dance party in your speakers!

As an avid music lover and an advocate for unusual and eclectic décor, I knew I had to have these speakers from Spencer's as soon as I saw them. They were easy to assemble. Though there are two distinct sections on the speakers (the plastic encasing and the silver base with the round stand, they were already together with only one cord to plug into an electrical outlet and one cord that plugs into your iPod/mp3 player or your computer. Plug in the right cords to the appropriate places, and you're all set!

The set of speakers are very easily portable as they are very lightweight, weighing only a couple of pounds together. They also are perfect for small spaces because they aren't very big. They are about two inches wide and stand at about twelve inches tall. I have a very small desk space and they very easily fit into what space I have around my computer.

One drawback to these speakers is that there is no volume control on the speakers themselves, as you may find on other speakers. The volume control is set by your music playing device, whether it be your iPod/mp3 player or your computer, so it will only go as loud as your device. Although, for people living in an apartment complex or a dorm room, this may be ideal. I just happen to like being able to adjust the volume with both the music playing device and the computer speakers.

Another slight drawback is that there is no way to turn them off. When the music goes off, the water stops shooting up and flashing different colors, but the lights stay on and provide a good deal of light. Some people may enjoy this, but the only way to turn the lights off completely is to unplug them.

The quality of these water speakers isn't the greatest, but they look pretty awesome in an office or in a dorm room. So if you're looking to spice up your music listening and your computer area with some pretty aesthetics, these are the speakers for you. If you're looking for something that will make your music stand out with its power and quality, you might go with a more ordinary set of speakers for your music enjoyment.
