Do you have hard water or well water? If so, then you need The Works Tub And Shower Cleaner. While many tub and shower products might remove soap scum The Works also removes rust and hard water stains without breaking your back or your budget.
I first purchased The Works many years ago because I was pinching pennies and it was one of the lower priced products on the grocery store shelf. I didn't have hard water or rust problems in my tiny apartment but I did live on a very limited budget. I discovered quite by accident when the bottle had tipped over and leaked onto my bathroom floor that it cleaned up old stains in grout quite nicely without scrubbing the floor. From then on I would only use The Works on my shower and sink plus I also sprayed it on the floor to clean the grout between tiles.
When I moved into my new home I thought I was going to have to replace the bathroom sink and bathtub because of the rust stains caused by the well water and old cast iron pipes. Like any new home owner I cleaned everything before I moved my own belongings into the house. The first room I started with was the bathroom. I sprayed the bathtub and sink with The Works and left the room to go retrieve a few other supplies. When I returned five minutes later I was amazed at what had happened. The areas on both the sink and bathtub where I had sprayed The Works no long had rust stains! I couldn't believe it! What I thought would end up costing me a few hundred dollars before labor to fix had cost me less than $3.00!
It took about three applications and one good scrubbing to completely remove all of the rust from the bathtub and sink but when I was done; both the sink and the bathtub looked brand new without any trace of rust left behind. After this, I used The Works on anything that had rust and found it removed it all with little to no scrubbing required.
The only possible drawback I can find with this product is that it could smell a bit nicer. While the scent isn't terrible it could be a bit lighter. This is a small price to pay when avoiding the harsher rust removers that are also significantly higher in cost and work.
Do keep in mind The Works does have chemicals that remove rust so you should wear rubber gloves as it can irritate the skin and do not spray in areas that have poor ventilation as ingesting the vapors of any cleaning product is not healthy.
If you want a product that is cost efficient, time efficient try The Works Tub And Shower Cleaner!!!

Post a Commentwell, I just got a bottle of THE WORKS, and i am going to use it as soon as I get home on my bath tub with rust and mineral stains. I am encouraged with the good reviews, so I will post my result tomorrow !!!!!
i cant find it any where to buy it any more. i love it . i can only use one hand and i can clean good with it
I have well water (the previous tenant didn't use water softener) and after trying different products like Lime Away and CLR with no results, I researched rust removing and came across this article. I use The Works in my toilets and had it hanging around the house. Out of curiosity, I put some in my kids tub (really, really orange) and within SECONDS there was WHITE shining through!!! A few minutes and a little elbow grease and the tub looks amazing! Thanks for this article!
Product was sprayed on various surfaces with different levels of soil. It didn't come clean until I used a scratch pad with the cleaner. Was not worth the cost ($4.00) for the product.
the Works - USED to Work BUT they changed the formula. I want the OLD formula back - the one with phosphoric acid. Why did they change a good product. can anyone let me know where I can buy the old formula. kingofthefrogs.frogfarm@gmail.com
I read somewhere that this would do the trick but I was skeptical to try it. I was thinking to myself... it only costs $1.00 so how good could it actually be. My toilets were horrible so I just knew I needed some high powered/high priced product. Needless to say, I used the whole bottle on two toilets and they now look brand new. AMAZED!!!
Try Scum Off Shower Cleaner, its 100% guaranteed to remove soap scum, hard water stains, calcium and mineral deposits without any scrubbing! Theres no chemicals so you don't have to worry about fumes either and its 100% eco-safe. You can get it at www.scumoff.com
I was a COMPLETE skeptic. I still can't believe the stuff I found at the dollar store cleaned everything in my bathroom better than the expensive bleach formulas. I even considered replacing the tub!
The smell is a bit bad but I shut the door and open the window or exhaust fan anyways to aide in the drying process. I also don't want my pets getting into the stuff, so it's all good
I'm stocking up too. For $100 I can get enough to last me literally years. HIGHLY recommended
I believe it says "don't use on toilets" or something to that effect but I've used it with no problems so...whatever
Good Luck this is your answer!
I spent a lot of money on different products, I heard of the works and tried it
I am going to stock up on this product because it like its name, it really works
Thanks for a great review for a great product. We have well water here; The Works Tub and Shower cleaner works great. I've decided the odor it creates is from the chemical reaction of the product with the stains as it works to dissolve them. Thankfully it isn't any stronger than it is. I wear gloves when using it.
