Product, Service and Concert Proceeds Going Help Haiti Earthquake Victims

There Are Many Ways to Help..

Janet Hunt
We are all saddened by the tragedy and loss of life that has happened in the recent Haiti earthquake. We all want to do our part to help. There are many different ways you can donate. There is something you can do to help. Many manufacturers are donating a certain percentage of the proceeds from sales of some products to the Haiti relief efforts. Some artists are donating proceeds from concerts, and restaurants are donating food sales. Here are a few that I have found.

Nico Wellness

David Nico, founder of Nico Wellness will donate 10% of product sales to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort. David Nico is a native of Haiti. His parents and other family members still live on the island. Nico Wellness is an internet provider of nutritional products and services. You can visit their website here, Nico Wellness.

Gaming Companies

Gamers have a heart too! Several gaming companies are donating the proceeds from game sells to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort. Some of the gamers who are donating profits for Haiti are:

GamePro

PopCap

Bungie

Pocket Gamer

Mac and iPhone

The Mac and iPhone manufacturers are donated to proceeds of application sales to Haitian aid organizations. Mac developer Mike Piatek-Jimenez says proceeds from the sale of the Mac OS X weather app will be donated to Haitian Relief Efforts through the end of January. Here is the link: Apple Store

Restaurants

Several restaurants are donated proceeds from one day or from the sale of a certain menu item to Haitian Earthquake Relief Efforts. One notable effort is the McDonald's Corp. in Oak Brook, Illinois. McDonald's Corp. in Oak Brook has pledged $500,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross. Its franchisee partner in Latin America, Arcos Dorados, also has agreed to match that donation through a grassroots program to raise funds at its 1,700 locations. From Jan. 16 until Jan. 22, all McDonald's restaurants operated by Arcos Dorados in 19 countries will donate 50 cents from the sales of individual Big Mac sandwiches and Big Mac Extra Value Meals.

Entertainers

The entertainment industry is also doing its part to help Haiti. Several entertainers are donating proceeds from concert sales to Haitian Relief Efforts including Lady Gaga, Sheryl Crow, and rapper Bun B.

Excellent report Janet. Hopefully the support will continue long after the media stops covering the tragedy.
