Where are the files? Where is the mail?
Where is that phone I hearing ringing?
Where is my schedule, what does it mean,
The SYSHOST is constantly pinging?
The sales people call and grumble at my tone,
They start out quite chipper but quickly bemoan,
The way they can't get to their forms.
What dot E X E should I call up for payday,
Who knows where the account reps from out of town stay,
Who knew of these daily work storms?
The paper is piling high on my desk,
It tumbles relentlessly to the floor.
Accounts receivable just called to announce,
It can't access our records anymore.
Oh why did I say, oh what caused me to quip,
About the days gone by,
When a secretary knew her place, steno pad in hand,
Chased round the desk on the sly.
"Professional Administrator," I said,
With a roll of my eyes,
"Who thought that one up?"
Were my humorous cries.
But now who is laughing, my demeanor is meek,
Next year I will know to honor this week.
The time I have lost all manner and track . . .
Can someone please beg our secre . . eh, Professional administrator to come back!?
