The investment to attend the more prestigious schools will most likely pay off in the end if you stick to it and learn your craft well.
Professional cooking can be a very rewarding career. People who do well in this industry often claim they could not imagine doing anything else for a living. Post a Commentare you kidding me? as someone who followed her passion for food and cooking.... and realized that I had a lot of company in that passion.... I would NEVER say that it is a lucrative field to go into without a lot more in depth explanation of the trade.... Start a catering company? You must be one of those that lives in a different world than the rest of the country. A world where you can use all of your savings to start a catering business that has a 15% chance or less of surviving. But it doesnt matter, because my husband has enough of an income that we can live on and still keep the nanny. Please. Yeah, go to culinary school. At least its job security for my restaurant friends who want to get teaching jobs with regular hours and benefits....
