The Jonas Brothers - Beginnings

The Jonas Brothers have been in the headlines since they began touring in 2005 as the opening act for artists like gospel group Jump5, Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, The Click Five, Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls. What makes the three brothers so popular? They are cute, clean-cut, and talented so they appeal to fan girls and concerned parents alike.

The Jonas Brothers almost didn't happen. In the beginning, Nick Jonas, the son of an Assemblies of God pastor, was signed to record a solo gospel album before the brothers were discovered as a group. Although the boys have so far opted to perform pop/rock instead of gospel music, the Jonas Brothers have never strayed far from their Christian roots and are still managed by their father Kevin Jonas, Sr.,as well as the Jonas Group, and other agencies.

The Jonas Brothers - 2006

It was in 2006 after the release of their first single "Mandy" in December of 2005 and the subsequent "Mandy" video that the Jonas Brothers started to become a household name among teens and tweens and even the gospel music community with their appearance at Gospel Music Week in Nashville in April of 2006. By the time their first album It's About Time was released on August 8, 2006 in a "limited" release of 50,000 copies, the Jonas Brothers were appearing on soundtracks and other special projects, including a couple for Disney. Before their self-titled second album released, they had already performed the National Anthem at the White House -- twice.

The Jonas Brothers - 2007

By the end of 2007, even parents were starting to know not only the name Jonas, but the names Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas as well. This was the year the Jonas Brothers began to make appearances with Miley Cyrus. In August of 2007, they guest-starred in an episode of "Hannah Montana" which was aptly titled "Me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas." They also performed "We Got the Party" with Miley Cyrus on the Disney Channel show which furthered their relationship with Disney and brought the Jonas Brothers one step closer to their own Disney show.

A few days after their appearance on "Hannah Montana," the Jonas Brothers made another appearance with Miley Cyrus at the Teen Choice Awards where they co-presented an award. They also performed at the Miss Teen USA contest that August as well as at the closing ceremonies of the Disney Channel Games which aired in August. By the end of 2007, the three singing siblings had also been seen on the American Music Awards, at the 81st annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

The Jonas Brothers - 2008

In 2008, the JoBros not only released A Little Bit Longer, but also filmed Camp Rock with Demi Lovato and appeared on the Camp Rock soundtrack. That year also found the brothers starring in a Disney Channel reality short series called "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream." They also became the youngest band to ever be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2008.

The Jonas Brothers - 2009

The Jonas Brothers kicked off 2009 by being interviewed by Barbara Walters. In April 2009, the Jonas Brothers finished filming the first season of their Disney Channel series, JONAS. They released their fourth studio album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times in June. Over the course of the year, they provided the voices of the cherubs in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and appeared in other shows and movies including filming the sequel to Camp Rock. In August, the Jonas Brothers also scored six Teen Choice Awards.

The end of 2009 brought big changes to the Jonas Brothers as oldest brother Kevin Jonas got married to Danielle Deleasa, middle brother Joe appeared as a guest judge on "American Idol" and youngest JoBro Nick announced his upcoming solo career.

The Jonas Brothers - 2010

The year 2010 began with Kevin Jonas a newly married man and Nick Jonas touring on his 14-city solo tour and releasing his first album as Nick Jonas & The Administration. What will the future bring to the Jonas Brothers? Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam is scheduled to premiere in 2010 with little brother Frankie appearing as well as the three older Jonas boys. With their continuing Disney Channel show and more touring, one thing is for certain - we will be hearing about the Jonas Brothers for many years to come.
