A resident of Las Vegas, N.V. and Downey, CA, Kathy Liebert won her first tournament in 2002 at the Party Poker Million event. This was the first poker tournament with a $1 million pot. Kathy Liebert has gone on to win other tournaments and contest since that time and has established herself as a poker phenomenon. Kathy Liebert has won a World Series of Poker tournament bracelet and has accrued more than $2 million in winnings.
Kathy Liebert is also one of the few female poker commentators, oftentimes commentating alongside Gary "The Choirboy" Jones. Her colorful commentary combined with her innate knowledge of the game of poker makes her easily to follow and respected among professional poker players.
Perhaps one of the great accomplishments of Kathy Liebert's career is the fact that she is the first woman to ever win a poker tournament with a $1 million pot. Kathy Liebert is also ranked in the top ten women money winners for the World Series of Poker tournament. She slowed down from tournament play in 2003, and allowed most of her energy to be on her love of the stock market and commentating.
In fact, it is Kathy Liebert's fascination with investing in the stock market that has allowed her to pursue her career in poker. After quitting her corporate job, Kathy Liebert invested heavily in the stock market, which allowed her the freedom to travel and play. Kathy Liebert is still investing heavily and using her business acumen to invest in stocks that do well and afford her the lifestyle she has become accustomed to.
Kathy Liebert is a success both within the realms of poker and in the world outside of poker. Though she rarely plays in tournament, her skills remains the envy of both men and women players worldwide.
