First Impressions
Nestled in the midst of a busy shopping center, the Sprouts location on Marsh Lane is neighbor to a variety of businesses ranging from a yoga studio to Dollar Tree. Albertson's and CVS are also in the same complex, making it easy to complete various errands in one central location.
The store's atmosphere is comfortable and casual like a cross between a neighborhood farmers market and an old-fashioned general store. Large, mural-like signs make it easy to navigate the store's many departments. Thanks to mindful displays and shorter shelves, the store has an open, airy feel despite being full of merchandise.
The frozen food department is a bit small, but most every other area contains a dizzying array of products. Licorice is available in nearly a dozen flavors, including watermelon and root beer. The impressive selection of honey, which includes three local brands, ranges from the familiar five-ounce honey bear to large three-pound jugs.
Gluten-Free Food at Sprouts
Sprouts has a variety of gluten-free products including bulk bins of alternatives to white flour. There are copies of Gluten-Free Grocery Guide available throughout the store. The free booklet is like Cliff's Notes for gluten-free shoppers. It explains why going gluten-free is appropriate for some people and includes a list of common sources of gluten. The booklets also include an alphabetized list of many of the gluten-free products at Sprouts.
Natural and Organic Product Coupons
Sprouts periodically publishes a small coupon book available in stores and by mail. (According to its website, they are giving the mail carrier the summer off. You will have to visit the store in person for the latest edition.) The booklet includes coupons for a variety of natural products.
Prices at Sprouts
Although natural and organic brands tend to have a higher price tag, Sprouts' sales ads rival other metroplex grocers, such as Kroger. Sprouts has double ad Wednesday, meaning you can shop last week's ad and the current ad at the same time. Ads are available for viewing on the Sprouts website.
Things to Know Before You Go
The selection of products at this store promotes meandering, marveling and closely reading labels. That means you can take your time looking around, but be careful to avoid bumping into others leisurely contemplating their purchase options.
The Dallas Sprouts location does not sell beer and wine.
