Programs for Parents or Non Parents to Join

Boone county, Kentucky is the home of more than one hundred thousand residents. It is constantly changing for the better. The residents of Boone County are always seeking something to do. Don't let a small community fool you. Parents need to know there are activities for them to strengthen their character and well-being. Boone county has many to offer them this year.

The programs available help parents or non-parents to explore new adventures. These programs are throughout the year of 2009. The cost of these activities are not priced too extremely high. They are reasonably affordable. What programs are available to the community?

Program # 1: Ladies Self-defense course is perfect for any woman, married or even single. Every woman needs to know how to protect herself. The cost is merely thirty dollars. It is well worth the money spent. The classes begin March 17, at 7-9pm. A woman who participates in these classes will learn how to defend themselves in any circumstances.

Program #2: A fitness sampler class is perfect for anyone who wishes to be more fit. The sampler offers a variety of classes to see which one best fits your style. The price of a fitness sampler is eighty dollars. It may seem expensive. But it is a good deal because you are trying out more than one class for the price of one. The sampler lasts from January 27-March 17 (6:30-7:30pm).

Program #3: Signing 101 is a class many should really look into. Communication is a viable link in our society. There are many citizens who are deaf and cannot communicate with the spoken word. Signing will help to strengthen communities around the world. Fifty dollars will help beginners to learn in-depth of deaf culture and so forth. The classes are from February 4-25 (Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm).

Program #4: There are many folks who do not have their high school diploma. Don't feel ashamed, there is still time to receive a GED. GED classes are free to those who wish to achieve success. The test is the only cost to you as a student. Which is only forty dollars. For more information, call the Gateway community college (see references, or links).

Program #6: Community emergency response team is a perfect for unplanned disasters. You can never be too prepared for floods, fires, break-ins and etc. A simple fee of twenty five dollars will help keep you, your family and community safe. This class is limited to only twenty five people. Graduates will be assigned to assist with the disaster response team.

Program #7: Introduction to metal detecting is a fun activity for the whole entire family to enjoy. This class costs only fifteen dollars. You will be amazed at what you can find with one of these devices. April 1st, 6-8pm is the beginning to many treasure hunt adventures.

Program #8: Dodge ball for ages 25 and over brings the classic game back alive. For twenty dollars you can relive this game. It is even great for exercise as well. January 27-March 3 from 6:30-7:30pm, the fun of dodge ball is at your fingertips. Adults can enjoy this fun game again. It's time for them to be kids again.
