In general, the Warner Theatre of Torrington, Connecticut, has hosted musicians and bands of local and stellar magnitude, classes and rehearsals for ballet performances, low-priced theatre and creative writing workshops, displays of fine art paintings by area contributing artists, one-act plays, fund-raising speaker celebrities for health awareness and careers, world-class dancing, training for children and youths by professionals for arts, ballet and plays, Pultizer-prize author discussions, banquets and wine tastings, film festivals and child and adult choirs.

In 2009 it looks like there will be a lot of things to do at Torrington's Warner Theatre starting on June 13th. Many may have heard of the all-time great film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest "starring Jack Nicholson. Whoever's crazy in this film isn't just from the beholder's mind.

For nostalgic sound and moments the musical pulsation of "Mystery Tour and The Beatle Tribute Band" comes alive on stage on August 22nd. The Beatles look-alike performers and songs like "Penny Lane" and "Hard Days Night" won't skip a beat and for $25 per ticket.

Author Wally Lamb has spoken at the Litchfield County Writers Project of University of Connecticut, Torrington Campus and the Hickory Stick Book Shop in Washington, Conn., but will now also offer insight about "She's Come Undone", "I Know This Much Is True" and "The Hour I First Believed" as he and other guest speakers share experiences for sanctuary in times of despair.

The Warner's 2009 year's new classes include Irish dance and Russian ballet, movie making, musical theatre, song writing, acting, costume design, improvising, jazz dance, scene design, hip hop and tap dancing. So much for a bright spot in your week!
