Progressive Labels "Illegal Immigrant" the "I Word."
The panel for the discussion was Brad Blakeman, a former adviser to Bush and Jehmu Greene, Democrat apologist, who characterized the word "illegal" as in illegal immigrant, to be "the 'I' word," and then went on to offer "it is absolutely is up to journalistic organizations to change their style guides; to provide advice to journalists out there as far as how we cannot contribute to an environment of hate; the economic anxiety; the increase in violence . . . ." She went on to offer "these terms are absolutely contributing to an increase in violence."
ENOUGH!
How is identifying a person here illegally some form of hate? See what I mean? As I so long ago wrote, it's all about changing the terms of the debate. First they demand we allow them to change the meanings of words to suit them then they use that to frame arguments in terms they believe favorable to their position.
ENOUGH!
As Blakeman offered, "The fact of the matter is you're talking about status; you're not attacking the individual. And we do have a problem of illegal aliens being in this country - immigration is a problem. It's not the individual in the sense we're attacking one person. There are 12 million of them here. Let's deal with the status and forget the nomenclature to make people feel better."
THAT is indeed the point. This is about progressives demanding we use the terms they desire. It is a tool in their little bag o' tricks to win parliamentary point number one. Remember, it's no longer global warming, you idiot! It's climate change, cause after all, that is an undeniable condition, no? The very nature of climate is change.
ENOUGH!
I will not play their childish little games. I refuse to identify myself and other American's as specific types of Americans. We are AMERICANS! And those who are here illegally, are illegal aliens. And law breakers are criminals and not people of unfortunate social position. Oh, and BS spouting lefties are just that. I will not grant them premise one of their argument. If you're smart you won't either.
It's the only tool they have left. They have lost on nearly every other premise. Obamacare is hated and the farther we get from it the more it is disliked and the more we wish to neuter and repeal it. Keynesian economics are and always have been complete failures. Capitalism has always produced superior results - always! Stimulus, which has been renamed as "quantitative easing" is a failure and did not keep unemployment below 8%. We could have called it a million different things, but would that have altered the outcome? Only to the lame-brained.
On a similar note is the printing of currency to increase cash flow. Inflation is defined as "more dollars chasing the same amount of goods and services." That means more dollars in the nation, and the same number of possible products or services to purchase, will BY DEFINITION, cause inflation. Does anyone think inflation added to the economic downturn is a good idea? Anyone? And undertaken to make the economy appear better than it actually is? Really bad idea; bad progressive idea.
These efforts are nothing more than trying to create a positive spin, a false impression, of real situations in order to make them more palpable. Palpable for who? Like PC speech, it is to make progressive ideas sound better, all the while hoping to make any who do not agree with progressives sound backward and unkind. It's like calling a dog turd a rose in an effort to make it smell better. It always fails.

Sorry Lloyd...I know what it's like to have one's thunder stolen from them. Been many an article I composed and before I could go to print someone beat me too it. In fairness tho, I wrote this yesterday and published it today because I already published two articles yesterday. I've found the more articles I publish in one day, because my work is almost purely political, more than two published works in one day results in reader fatigue. I am hard to take, even for those who like or agree with me, and more than two opinions from my big mouth in one day is more than even the most patient and kind person can be expected to endure...or something!LOL Thaks Brother! You know, Jimbo, I couldn't agree with you more than I do. My family came thru Ellis Island and they were Immigrants from Italy. Legal immigrants. They fought hard to work hard and become Americans legally. It wasn't easy for them - they learned to speak and write English. They were proud to do so. Anyone who comes to our country illegally should be prepared to be called "Illegal" or worse. That is the truth, good job on this, cheers :)
