Customer Service Rep Blown Up!

Char Greenwood
The recent surge in Cali underground hip hop is indeed undeniable. More and more, young artists are emerging from the streets to bring glory back to the west. Now, thanks to venues such as Lemert Park's Project Blowed, serious emcees like Psychosiz (of the hip hop monarchy Customer Service) are getting a chance to showcase not only their skills - but their drive and determination.

Project Blowed, is located in the ecclectic Leimert Park area, just off the Crenshaw strip and in the heart of Los Angeles. It has been showcasing some of the hottest underground hip hop talent for a decade, 2005 marking their tenth year. What better way to kick off the celebration than a road trip?

Next month Psychosiz and his fellow Service Reps will be touring with other emcees from the recently released Project Blowed 10th Anniversary albumn. They'll be traveling in the company of underground legends such as: Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, Busdriver, TwoMex, Pigeon John and Medusa, to name a few. The tour will promote the album's release and offer exposure for those artist (like Psychosiz) who are not yet signed. So if you enjoy skilled, cutting edge talent, check out the Project Blowed cd, and be on the lookout for Customer Serivce. They may be coming to your town.

California always did have a nice underground scene, it's just that the labels weren't interested in promoting them because they can really spit and that would present a problem for some of the mainstream artists. It's a shame most people don't realize the depth behind what they have to offer.
