Supermodel, Heidi Klum is getting a new gig, according to a press release from Lifetime Television Network. Heidi Klum is the host, and one of the judges on the popular fashion program Project Runway, which has just completed its eighth season on Lifetime. Klum will be turning her talents to a show featuring children

Klum's new program, tentatively titled Seriously Funny Kids, will feature the supermodel interacting with children; and highlight the funny things that kids say. Klum, the mother of four children under the age of six, should be a natural at interacting with young children.

Project Runway

Heidi Klum is a key figure in the fashion competition Project Runway, which has run for eight seasons. During her tenure as host and judge on the reality program, Klum has been filmed in various stages of pregnancy, looking terrific.

Project Runway is hosted by Heidi Klum and is judged by Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. Tim Gunn mentors the contestants. Project Runway is an elimination competition, so every week the designers are given a different challenge and one contestant leaves the competition.

Project Runway is about fashion, but it is also about personalities. The show throws together a group of competitors, puts them in close proximity and lets the cat-fights begin. Tim Gunn, the mentor, is the guiding voice of reason for the aspiring designers. The judges discuss the designs and designers, choosing the designer they feel has the most potential, but their standards seem to change often.

Gretchen Jones was named the winner of season 8 on October 28, 2010. Jones was followed by Mondo Guerra and Andy South. The winner of Project Runway gets a big boost in their own design business, with a prize package that includes: $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a technology suite valued at $50,000 from HP and Intel, and the opportunity to sell designs on Piperlime.com.

In the season eight finale the judges could not agree on the winner. Heidi Klum and guest judge Jessica Simpson thought that Mondo Guerra should take top honors. Judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia argued that Gretchen Jones was fashion forward and the her styles would appeal to more women. Heidi Klum called the decision the most difficult in the show's history. Gretchen Jones was named the winner, causing outrage among Mondo fans.

Heidi Klum's new program, Seriously Funny Kids (working title), will premiere in 2011. Lifetime TV has not announced a return date for Project Runway.
