'˜Project Runway' Host Heidi Klum Joins Other Stars by Launching New Fragrance

Heidi Klum, model and host of 'Project Runway', is set to launch a new fragrance this fall. She has partnered up with Coty, Inc., a leading global beauty company, to create a signature scent. Klum said in a statement, "I never thought my nose would recover from sniffing so many scent combinations but it is all worth it. I want my fragrance to be truly special and head-turning so that people ask the woman who's wearing it 'What are you wearing? You smell delicious!'"

The new fragrance, Heidi Klum Shine, will launch later this fall. Klum's name can be associated with beauty whether it is fashion design, modeling or being the face of Astor, a European cosmetic company. She already has a huge market base for beauty products and it would be surprising if her newest project, the launch of her own fragrance line, doesn't do well.

Although, Klum has competition in the fragrance market. Many other celebrities who have made names for themselves whether through music, acting or modeling, have also launched fragrance lines. And it's not just women launching fragrances.

Katy Perry, celebrity pop singer, launched her fragrance Purr in November 2010 saying that it was everything Perry. Rihanna, another pop star, launched her Reb'l fluer fragrance January of 2011 and claimed in a press release, "This fragrance is about my passion for individuality - being expressive and empowering, yes, but also emotional and intriguing. I promise you Reb'l Fleur will not be easily forgotten."

Sex and the City actress, Sarah Jessica Parker, launched SJP NYC in 2010 just in time to coincide with the release of Sex and the City 2. Reality star, Kim Kardashian, created a perfume using her own name as the label. Derek Jeter, celebrity baseball player, created Driven Black, a cologne for men, and sold it through Avon. David Beckham, model and English footballer (soccer player to Americans), and wife Victoria Beckham, released a fragrance line that includes the labels, Signature, Instinct and Pure Instinct.

Heidi Klum might have competition but she also has a broad audience and fan base because of her work with companies like Astor, being host on 'Project Runway' and being a well known runway model. The question is... do you want to smell like Heidi Klum? If so, keep an eye out in stores this fall for Heidi Klum Shine.
