Project Runway: The Prom Dress Assignment

Everyone looks forward to their prom with such anticipation. For some people it's a more exciting evening than their wedding turns out to be. When your a teen there are so many important firsts. Like learning to drive and applying to college and your first love, your first kiss, your first heartbreak and staying friends with that special guy if you are lucky. It takes a lot to learn what you look good in and to love your body as it expands and contracts and grows into a more adult shape. I was so lucky to have true and genuine friends to navigate my teen years with. We were extra close because at boarding school you live work and play together. And you get locked up at 8 or 9 or 11 p.m. together. You study and laugh and cry together. You get over eating disorders together. You make secret future pacts together and all of those good things.
