Bella Cucina

Located conveniently on Commercial Drive in New Hartford, Tony Lupino's Bella Cucina restaurant is beautiful and open inside, appointed with classic elegance. They are an excellent choice for a formal prom night dinner where the food is extra special.

Bella Cucina staff pride themselves on making their own specialties and sauces from old Italian family recipes. They offer a wide variety of appetizers with a great selection of fresh succulent seafood for a festive prom dinner or pizza and area specialties such as Greens Lupino. Their dinner selections range from seared fresh Chilean Sea Bass to rich sauteed Chicken Francaise, and even tender grilled Filet Mignon.

Catering is available for larger prom parties but the dining room itself is open to comfortably accommodate several larger groups. The catering menu is very reasonable and includes many of the specialties served for dinner, including their homemade Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Riggies, Sausage and Peppers, Veal Cacciatore. No matter what your prom night dinner party looks like, Bella Cucina would love to accommodate you!

  • Traditional and beautiful Italian prom dinner restaurant
  • Glamorously cosmopolitan Mediterranean prom dinner restaurant
  • Exciting and exotic Japanese prom dinner restaurant
Be wary of any dishes smothered in sauce. Alfredo, spaghetti, and shellfish are "dress messes" on a plate. Salads with vinaigrette dressing are equally dangerous. For dessert, cheesecake, creme brulee or cannoli are safe bets.

We just got back from the Sweet 16 dinner at Bella Cucina. Rest assured, we will not be back. They have advertised a dinner with appetizer, a glass of wine and an entree for $16. Upon our arrival, the wine arrived quickly, although we did have to ask twice for a glass of water. Since we only asked for one glass of water, that was all our server brought -- even though there were two of us at the table. We ordered off the special menu, and ordered salads for an additional charge. Our appetizers arrived quickly. We should have known then what we were in for. The appetizers on the menu were characterized as individual. That is an understatement. Mine consisted of two very small clams. Enough said. The bread was hot and good, although we were never asked if we wanted any more. The salads never arrived. Our entrees were served. I have never been offered a portion size this small in a restaurant before. The piece of salmon I ordered was LESS than the half the size of a deck of cards, and my husbands's strip steak was fatty and inedible. There was a small scoop of mashed potatoes and a floret of broccoli on the plate. The entire dinner would not have filled a saucer. The waitress never asked us how we liked our meal, but she did tell people at the next table not to order the salmon as the portions were small. I complained to the hostess, was charged for both meals, and was told to try them again. Fat chance! They had the chance to make this right and chose not to.

just wondering if you've had the sushi at mitsuba nearby, and how you would compare sumo's sushi...
