Prom Discounts

How to Get Discounts on All Your Prom Needs

~Addie~
have always been a bargain shopper, partly because I have always used a strict budget when it comes to shopping and partly because I'm all about getting more for my money. The fact of me having hundreds of dollars to spend on one item, I probably wouldn't do it. At my senior prom I was given a specific amount of money to spend and of course I went all out. Now that I look back, the money my sister spent on my dress was not at all worth it. So what happens when you don't have a lot of money to spend on prom? You don't go? No.... Prom can be a stressful time of year, especially with the lack of money in today's economy. Here are a few ways you can find discounts, and create the perfect prom without breaking the bank.

Guys can rent a tuxedo from a shop. Men's Warehouse is a popular place for rentals. They offer all types of colors to choose from when it comes to their vest and cummerbunds. It's the simplest way to go because you can wear it the night of prom then take it back because let's face it you may not wear a tux again for quite some time. You will get everything from the tux to the shoes. Often time tuxedo rental places offer great discounts and specials for proms, depending on the tux ranges from $75 - $150.

When it comes to finding your dress, stay away from major department stores as their dresses can be very expensive. Instead look into smaller discount stores like Ross or T. J. Max. Also, places in the mall such as Charlotte Ruse and Forever 21 may have formal and semi formal dresses for less. Shoes can also be found at these places. Around prom season payless shoe source offers great deals on formal shoes as well.

When it comes to accessorizing Wal-mart actually has great jewelry. You can get beautiful rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and hair accessories for under $8 each.

Flower shops are expensive when it comes to getting a corsage. A great place to go for inexpensive flowers is to your local grocery store that has a flower/balloon station. Usually these places will make up a corsage for you for half the price of the flower boutique.

No matter what your prom needs may, there are sure to be discounts available. Here you've covered your tux, dress, shoes, accessories, and flowers. Now all you need is your prom ticket unfortunately there is no discount for that.
