Prom Hot Spots: A Shopping Guide to Altlanta's Finest

Prom in Atlanta, Georgia is not over-rated at all; in fact, Prom is the happenin' thing out in the "dirty south." Atlanta has so many shopping venues it is crazy to ever think that people actually have the time to visit these shops. Just in Atlanta, Georgia alone there are too many. With so many stores to choose from you may think, how and where do I find my prom dress? If you are someone who is into style, fashion and shopping you may already know the hotspots, but if you are someone like me, who doesn't always have a clue where to go here is a list of places I deem to be creditable in finding that perfect prom dress.

We all know that finding the perfect dress for prom is held in high regard. No one wants to be the talk of the town for having the "ugly" dress, rather we want a dress that screams out "good-looking."

My first pick is Tootsies, known as one of the finest shopping spots in the nation. It carries an elite line of European designers, and the best in classy, elegant dresses and formal wear. Tootsies is located in Atlanta and is open Monday thru Saturday form 10am to 7pm. They are closed on Sunday. Tootsies carries dresses and formal wear in sizes 2-24 and prices vary widely depending on style and designer.

My next prom hot spot in Atlanta is Miz Scarletts. Miz Scarletts is a popular boutique that has tons of beautiful formal wear and accessories. Miz Scarletts is open 7 days a week.

If money is no object, a very upscale spot, one of the best in Atlanta is Susan Lee. With its distinguished, elegant formal attire Susan Lee has got it. Though Susan Lee is a specialty store, mainly for special occasion as some of these dresses you may never wear again. Most of the pieces at Susan Lee are $1000+ but well worth the money spent. Susan Lee has lots of specials usually up to 75% off. Sizes here are from 2-24. Store hours are Monday thru Saturday 10am to 5:30pm.

My next prom hot spot pick is Strictly Social, located in Atlanta on C Mt. Vernon rd. If you are looking for a dress for this years prom, that no one has seen before, Strictly Social is the place to get it. This boutique like store has a unique selection of formal dresses for any occasion.

Last but definitely not least is the Perimeter Mall. Open Monday thru Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sundays from 12pm to 7pm. This is a large Mall with 300+ retailers, if you are a mall goer or just prefer to find your dress in a mall over those boutiques then here is where you should come. The Perimeter Mall has a lot of stores but these should suit your prom needs. All stores prices vary widely from $29 to $1000+ for their formal dresses and carry a vast array of sizes. Stores that carry formal wear include: Ann Taylor, Bloomingdales, Dillards, Macy's, Nordstrom, bebe, Cache', J.Crew, Savvi Formal wear, White house/Black Market and the Red Carpet Boutique. Whatever your style you can find your perfect prom dress in one of these outstanding venues.
