Prom Music Playlist Ideas: Great Slow Dance Prom Songs

Songs About Love, Friendship, Happiness, and Change

K. Anderson
When it comes to dance parties, there are several songs which I believe are awesome to dance to. Whether it be at a middle school dance, a Christmas formal, or the senior prom, these songs fit and will make your night feel complete. I have written an article before on 10 of the best slow dance songs, however there are hundreds more that would be perfect, so I decided it was time to share more. The following includes my take on 3 more of the best songs to add to a prom playlist:

1- I Cross My Heart- George Straight

This is an amazing love song from George Straight. It's about a promise to the one you love that you will give everything you have for them. It discusses how no matter what life brings, happiness or heartache, you will be there for each other forever. This is a great song to dance to at prom because you're getting close to graduation, and sometimes you will be going separate ways from the one you love, but as this song says, not matter what life brings, you will be there and you can make it.

2- Look At Me- Carrie Underwood

This is one of the newest songs out by Carrie Underwood on her recently released CD, Play On. I have already fallen in love with this song because it makes me smile thinking about the guy that I love. Everyone who is or has been in love knows that when the person you love looks at you, you can see in their eyes if they love you. Even though there are temptations and troubles in the world, the look from your lover's eyes is enough to tell you that you're the only one for them. This is an awesome feeling to have, especially on your prom night.

3- I Thought I Loved You Then- Brad Paisley

This is an awesome love song that is so true for many of us in relationships. From personal experience, I can vouch that you may think you love someone at one point but after being with them for a longer time, you realize that what you once thought was love is so much stronger now. As I mentioned before, I started dating a guy five years ago, and though I thought I loved him a few months in, and I probably did, the love that I have for him now is so much more. You grow with a person and you experience so many things that make your love for them grow stronger. This is a perfect song for prom because you can reminisce on all of your memories with the one you love, or even with your friends.

Eh, that's great that you like country and all, but I would have suggested popular songs that people know rather than just personal favorites. I can't see any kids wanting to dance to any of those songs at their prom.
