Promote Your Web Business with Online Parties

Peter R
Much like a Tupperware party, you can host an online party as a fun, and amazingly profitable way to build your business and get some quality networking done. Plus, you don't have to pay for the pizza, pretzels, chips and dip.

There are many inexpensive and free chat rooms which create a fun, relaxed atmosphere in which the chat room is already buzzing with entreprenuers.

It's possible to recruit a host for your party or even create a mystery host party where you randomly select a guest to be the host and he gets to receive the benefits.

Planning your online party can happen with virtually any search engine's chat rooms, as well as social networks such as Myspace where you can join an entreprenuer group and use the Event tool to invite people in your network to the cyber party.

Definetly have a theme for your party based on whatever product or opportunity you are offering, and provide some discounts, or offer a free gift with a purchase. I usually like to offer a free Ebook or Ebay Coupon for guests of my chat parties who make a paypal payment.

It is best to use your opt-in email groups, message boards, and social networking sites for your invitations. Also include invites in your typical e-mails to friends and family as well. Once the party gets started, have each guest log on, introduce themselves, and write a brief description about themselves.

Also, remember, this is a an attempt to drum up business masked as a party. Include some games to keep things light.

The Following are pretty easy games to set up in a chat room:

*Scavenger Hunt - List some products, services, and other items on your site and challenge your friends to locate them on your site.

*Word Scramble - Pick several random words and challenge your guests to put them together in the right order according to information on your website. Or, set up something similar to a wheel of fortune episode and give them a product or website related clue and allow them to take turns guessing a letter.

*Trivia Questions - This is always a favorite. Just make sure it relates to your business. For example, if you're promoting an auction business, you offer a prize for whoever can guess the most expensive item ever sold on Ebay.

There are many more fun, exciting games to play at your party! Make up your own if you like as well.

Make it clear that weather people buy products, join your business, or just hang out in the chat room like a wall flower, they will get something out of it. Offer an an online presentation, perhaps in YouTube video form. Offer them tips that can help them with their lives. For example, if you are having an online chat party for writers, offer some tips on editing, where to find work, and some other free advice. Make sure it's fun, informative, and you may create a new business for yourself as a professional virtual socialite.
