Promoting Immorality Will Weaken Any Military

The United States military has been for many years the best military in the world. However, the American military is facing changes. Some may welcome these changes even believe these changes will be of a benefit to America as a whole.

These changes while well intended are neither healthy nor good for America as a whole. The changes facing the military are not exclusive to the military, as these changes are also affecting American's in many other areas of life.

Perhaps you are wondering just what are these changes and why would anyone believe these changes are not good, why would some even believe these changes to be horrid?

Well, I will lightly touch on the one change that will lead most likely to the end of America as we have known it. America if it continues on this particular path will fall. There is no country that has ever been able to stand when it has gone in this particular direction.

What I am talking about is moral decline due to the acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle as normal and mainstream. This lifestyle has never and will never be normal behavior. It is a destructive behavior, and it leads to problems within all areas of a society.

Legalized same gender marriage makes a mockery of traditional marriage. At the same time it devalues traditional marriages of one man, one woman.

Any couple can live together and pretend to be married, both same gender peoples, and male-female couples. However this does not mean they are married. It doesn't even mean they should be married.

One of the main problems with same gender- marriages is the fact being it is unnatural. It also gives traditional marriages less value. When someone gets married traditionally both spouses are bound together not only by a covenant but by law.

I won't go into lengthy detail about all the reasons I disagree with same gender-marriages but I will say that as the homosexual lifestyle is promoted, and Americans are pushed into believing there is nothing unnatural about this lifestyle choice we will see many changes in America and not for the good.

Now getting back to the United States military, why would anyone say there is anything wrong with anyone serving in the military as an open homosexual? Well for these reasons, first during basic training the military separates the men from the women, for most training activities. This is done in part to prevent intimate relationships from forming.

During training the military does not need to have to monitor who may have a crush on whom, or who might be jealous of whom. Or who may be "showing off" in order to attract the attention of a potential mate.

Separating the men and women does not prevent this in entirety but it does lessen it somewhat. Ok, so again what about the homosexual? Let's pretend you are in the military, not only are you in the military but you are in very tight quarters. Let's also pretend you have no homosexual urges whatsoever. However your room mate does.

Would you feel comfortable sharing a room, a tent, a shower, or being in close confined quarters with someone who of the same gender who is openly attracted to you? This is a serious question.

Some of you may find it flattering, to think someone thinks you are attractive however if this person is of the same gender, you may not believe this to be flattering. Also if this person makes passes or flirts with you continuously you may very well soon take offense.

What you get then is a weakened military, because of the fact being, while before people may have served who were homosexual, they were not allowed to openly display this tendency. So while it may have happened before it wasn't out in the open.

Bringing this lifestyle out into the open, causes those who are not engaged in this chosen lifestyle to be more alert, not for an enemy attack, but for an unwelcome flirtation from a fellow soldier.

When a soldier is distracted due to an attraction with the opposite sex it is a safety hazard. When a soldier is distracted due to an attraction or suspicion of an attraction from someone of the same gender it is not only a safety hazard but also it is a recipe to generate strife within the barracks.

No military can withstand an attack from within; placing openly homosexual soldiers into the military is a form of attack on the moral of the American soldier. It is not good, it is unnatural, and it will lead to the fall of the American military if continued.
