Promoting Your Website

3 Tips to Help Promote Your New Website

Laura Hickey
You're added your website to many search engines. Some automatically, others manually. A month later, you check out yourself on the search engines and you're not in the top ten, or twenty. Don't despair, this happens often when starting out with your website. Here's 3 quick tips for better acknowledgment of your website.

1. Keywords

Remember to carefully pick your keywords. Words that are often used will lower your chances of a good ranking in the search engines. Let's say you're running a baby store. Do you specialize in car safety seats, clothes, baby bottles? Specify your website keywords to what you do. Having only the keyword "Baby store" will bring massive competition on search engines. Another example: For my book, Mysterious Chills and Thrills, I realized that putting "children's book" wasn't going to help me much. But specifying that it's a children's fiction short story book, along with certain aspects of it...such as haunted houses, statues, snails and secret elements helped my rankings.

2. Auto Traffic

Since were on the subject of search engines, let's talk about auto traffic. What is it, you may ask? Auto traffic is when you open your web browser and allow it to run. You may decide to sit and watch what comes on or do some chores. Each auto traffic programs has a time between 9 and 25 seconds before changing to a new website. As your browser runs, the program will display your website for as many credits as you earn. You earn credits from allowing the program to run on your web browser. Some auto traffic programs give you a credit ratio of 1-1. Meaning for every one website your browser shows, you get a hit. Some programs offer better deals. Most likely people who have these programs running, aren't watching what website comes up next. So why use an auto traffic program?

Because some search engines rank on popularity. If you're constantly getting hits from using an auto traffic program, your ranking in search engines could go up. Ultimately this could bring customers to your website when they enter your keywords. Many auto traffic programs are free and you don't have to stay with your computer while it runs.

3. Promoting Online

Promote on on-line groups, e-mail signatures and message boards. Many on-line groups allow you a small 3-6 line signature. Every time you contribute to a message board, you have a chance to leave your name and website link. The same with e-mail, make sure you use your e-mail signature when sending out e-mails. When promoting yourself, make sure your small 3-6 line description is eye catching.

There you are...3 quick tips for web promoting. There's plenty more ways...be creative! Good luck with your website promoting!

I think Nick offered more information that you did. It would have been great if you had given links to these auto traffic programs.
