Promotional Flashlight Buying & Distribution

Promotional flashlights have some advantages over more common promotional items like pens, pencils, magnets, and calendars. Customers are likely to keep using them for a long period of time, they are relatively inexpensive, and some of them provide a fairly large surface for your business or organization's name, logo, and other information. They also have a slightly higher value than some of the other promotional items, making it possible to sell them for a small amount and reducing the chance customers will discard or lose them.

Flashlights with batteries and/or bulbs which can be replaced have greater value and are more likely to be kept by customers for a long period of time. However, some small LED keychain flashlight units can last for years without having their bulbs or batteries changed. Larger promotional flashlight models which come with "AA" or "AAA" batteries are more desirable for some customers, although you will want to distribute them before the batteries expire. Metal flashlights tend to be somewhat more expensive than plastic equivalents, but are less likely to be broken and have a higher resale value.

The distribution of promotional flashlights to customers can be accomplished by selling them inexpensively at a business (preferably for under two dollars if they are small, perhaps as much as $3.50 for larger units, or more if they have special features) or including them with purchases. A business which mails items to its customers might send them as free bonuses in packages containing items customers have purchased, or offer to include a free flashlight with purchases exceeding a particular total cost.

Many promotional item dealers offer promotional flashlights, including branders.com, westsky.com, and abetteridea.com. With some flashlight models it is possible to choose the color; this is promotionally useful if a particular color is associated with your business. Some features which are available at additional cost include a built-in battery charger, pen, radio receiver, or tape measure. Some special features are more desirable for promotional flashlights in a particular type of store, such as electronics, hardware, or office supply. If possible, you may want to request a sample before purchasing a large quantity, to make sure the flashlight is of good enough quality and does not have any design flaws, especially if it has complex built-in features like a hand crank or radio.

Overall, the best promotional flashlight model and design to purchase depends upon how much information you want to have printed on them, which method can be used to most effectively distribute them, and what type of business or organization you operate.
