My wife and I recently wanted to upgrade our cell phones. So as we shopped around our local AT&T Store we browsed through the latest cellular phone models. We were looking for something that had the features similar to a Blackberry or the iPhone, but we didn't want the hefty price tag that those phones carried.
We eventually choose the Propel from Samsung it had a lot of the same applications as the iPhone, it also had an easy to use QWERTY keyboard like the Blackberry. I choose the optional internet and GPS service since my work and personal life requires me to travel a bit so it seemed like handy features. My wife choose the unlimited text messaging package since she sends hundreds of text messages a day to her friends, family and coworkers.
We have been using our Samsung Propel phones nonstop for the past few weeks and haven't had any real problems, the batteries drain quickly if you use the internet or GPS features a lot. We bought an optional phone charger to use in the car for when we travel, and the salesman was nice enough to throw in a data cable for free so we could charge and sync the phone via the USB port on our laptop. The optional data cable is handy when you have the optional micro SD memory card installed in the phone since you can transfer music, video, and pictures to and from the phone. The Samsung Propel also doubles as a MP3, music and Video Player which is great for me since I wanted an iPod but didn't want to have to carry another device in my already crowded pockets.
Some of the other nifty features included with the Propel are a tip calculator, several game demo versions, Bluetooth compatibility, and much more.
Overall this has been a great phone and once you add in the optional accessories and features like the data cable, micro SD memory card, internet and GPS service it make this "smart phone" a really useful tool.
So if you're in the market for a new phone with lots of features but still in a reasonable price range of under $100. Stop by your local Samsung or AT&T dealer and check one out. My wife and I give it a rating of 9 stars out of a possible 10.

Post a CommentIt doesn't have a touch screen like the iPhone but it has a lot of the same applications and features. I'd say it's more like a Blackberry but with out the rollerball mouse and hefty price tag.
Is this the alleged i-Phone killer?
