1. Don't go alone. Bring someone you're comfortable with. Someone who doesn't run out of words and jokes. Bring your boyfriend, your close friend or your sister. Just make sure it's someone you love hanging out with despite the consequences. Persuade them if you have to.
2. Wear an outfit you like. A comfortable outfit will put you in a good mood. But don't try competing with the bridesmaids.
3. Rolling your eyes during the event is a big no-no. This is definitely a wedding etiquette you should be conscious of. This gesture is something noticeable. Same as acting defensive or negative body language.
4. Do not do anything hostile like accidentally bumping into your object of aversion. Behave and show them that you can possess a good wedding etiquette, though.
5. Do not buy a wedding gift you know they will hate. It will only appear aggressive to them.
6. In greeting, give the couple a firm grip when shaking their hands. Show them a big smile as well. So that it will look more sincere when doing this, it helps to be talking about something very positive and happy with the person you're with before doing this.
7. Avoid sarcastic comment along the big event. Say something complimentary instead. "That dress is way too gorgeous!" instead of "I knew she had an awful taste!" You also never know who will overhear.
For whatever reason there is of hating this person, remember that this wedding day is their day. It is very special to them and if you don't follow certain wedding etiquette anything obnoxious it will look like your playing fake. Think of a helpful proper etiquette to help you survive on that day or else you will look like a jerk around anyone else's eyes. Don't ever put yourself into humiliation and be confident.
