Most of us are under the misconception that drinking water is only good for the health. Yes, it is very good to keep you healthy and going, but, too much of water intake can cause you harm to your body. No matter whether you want your body, mind or skin healthy, water is the first ingredient which anyone would suggest. Here are some pros and cons of drinking water.

Pros:
- The best things you can do to kick-start your day is drink a full glass of water in the morning which will wake your body up.
- The secret of having soft and crystal clear skin is water. Water will flush out the toxins and impurities and make your skin clear and look ever so young.
- Drinking water also controls hunger. Studies prove that, intake of cold water just 20 minutes before the meal will make you feel full, as the chillness will shrink your stomach.
- Add lemons or limes to your water, it will change the taste of the water, and make you feel like drinking more water.
- Gradually increase the intake of water. At one shot you cannot drink lots of water, so what you can do is increase the intake of water day by day.
- If you do not like to drink water, then try eating ice, as it is water in a different form.
- If you want to increase the urge of drinking water then have some saltier food before you drink water. This will make your mouth dry and you will feel like drinking lots of water.

Cons:
- If you have lots of water before you get to bed, then you will have to get up in the middle of the night, to go to the bathroom, which will disturb your sleep.
- Try and avoid drinking water while you eat, as the water, can water down the stomach acid, which will cause digestion problems.
- Anything taken in excess can cause problems. So does water. Excess of water can prove to be fatal, especially for those who are suffering from over exertion and heat stress.
- People with heart problems, high blood pressure or swelling of the lower legs should avoid excess of water. And if you have recently undergone a kidney transplantation, do consult your doctor before you take in any fluid for that matter.
Intake of water is the best treatment for any type of disorder or disease, the only thing to be kept in mind is that how much and when you actually drink water.
