Pros and Cons of the LG Genesis Android Smartphone
Good and Bad Features of the LG Genesis Smartphone
The LG Genesis (US760) from U.S. Cellular is a unique and feature packed smartphone, but before you decide on whether the LG Genesis is the right smartphone for your or not, it's best to look at these pros and cons.
Pro: Touchscreen and QWERTY Keyboard Options
Regardless of if you're a fan of inbuilt touchscreen keyboards or physical keyboards; the LG Genesis provides the best of both worlds with a responsive touchscreen keypad and a physical Slider QWERTY keyboard. One of the most notable features of the LG Genesis is it's QWERTY keyboard that makes typing, texting, messaging, social networking, and browsing the internet a lot easier than with touchscreen keyboards.
Con: Bulky Form Factor
The QWERTY keyboard of the LG Genesis is a great option for messaging enthusiasts, but it comes at a bit of a price; a bulkier and heavier form factor. The LG Genesis is a bit clunky and is less ideal that most sleek and thin modern smartphones, but if you prefer a physical keyboard, you might consider the bulky size of the to be a fair trade-off.
Pro: Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot
The LG Genesis boasts several great connectivity issues including 3G access and Wi-Fi support, but one of its most notable connectivity features is its mobile Wi-Fi hotspot functionality. With the LG Genesis you'll not only be able to enjoy U.S. Cellular's great network, but you'll also be able to connect up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices (tablets, laptops, mobile gaming devices, eBook Readers, etc.) at the same time '" providing nonstop internet access while you're on the go.
Con: Display Quality
Although the LG Genesis features touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard support, the 3.5 inch display of the Genesis leaves a lot to be desired. While most other modern smartphones sport vivid and high definition displays, the display of the LG Genesis is less vivid and responsive than was expected.
Pro: Google Integration
If you're looking for great functionality, you'll love the Google integration featured on the LG Genesis. The LG Genesis comes preloaded with Google features including Google Talk, Gmail, Google Voice, Google Maps, and several other Google goodies that you're bound to love. The added Google support of this smartphone makes the awesome LG Genesis even better and adds to the vast apps available in the Android Market.
