Pros and Cons of the Motorola Titanium Android Smartphone
Is the Motorola Titanium a Good or Bad Smartphone?
The Motorola Titanium is a text-friendly Android Smartphone with a modern an retro feel. As a new phone with a few "old-school" features, the Motorola Titanium is packed with a few great and not-so great functions.
Pro: QWERTY Keyboard
Touchscreen keyboards are the norm nowadays, but dedicated QWERTY keyboards allow faster texting, instant messaging, email composing, internet browsing, navigation, and other typing activities. The Motorola Titanium puts its focus on a physical keyboard instead of using a touchscreen keyboard as its primary keypad and is best for texting and messaging buffs.
Con: Lacks 3G Speed
The Motorola Titanium is the last of a dying breed and will likely be one of the last iDEN mobile phones to hit the market. With most modern phones moving onto 4G mobile internet technology and with 3G mobile internet technology being the norm, the slow iDEN mobile internet technology that predates 3G is a feature that makes the Motorola Titanium seems like a phone from "yester-year".
Pro: Hardware
Although the slow iDEN internet speed of the Motorola Titanium is a bummer, the rest of its hardware isn't that bad. With a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, digital zoom, and auto focus, a 1820 mAh battery, and 512 MB of internal storage (with 32GB of possible expansion), the hardware of the Motorola Titanium fairs pretty well in this day and age and is capable of handling mostly anything without a significant decrease in speed.
Con: No Android Upgrades
Let's face it; hardware is equally as important as software when smartphones are concerned and no matter how great the hardware of a smartphone, shoddy software can seriously hurt its performance. Unfortunately, the Motorola Titanium is saddled and can't upgrade beyond Android 2.1 ‰clair and with many smartphones moving onto Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Motorola Titanium will be stuck 2 Android generations behind.
Overall: Bad
After investigating the pros and cons of the Motorola Titanium, the cons outweigh the pros and it makes little since to invest in the Motorola Titanium with its obsolete features when there are way better smartphones on the market. The Motorola Titanium is the last of a dying breed and it's a reason why its counterparts have died off.
