Pros and Cons of the Samsung Captivate Android Smartphone

The Samsung Captivate is arguably one of the best Android phones released by AT&T, but while it's a great phone that packs a host of great features, it also has a few problematic areas as well.

Good: HD Display

Bad: Battery Life

While it's great to have one of the greatest touchscreen displays on the market, the battery life of the Samsung Captivate leaves a lot to be desired. With a maximum of almost 6 hours of talk time, the Samsung Captivate's battery won't fair well when playing games, watching movies, or doing anything else that might be considered power and batter intensive.

Good: Social and Sharing Features

In this modern "connected" world that we live in, the social and sharing features of the Samsung Captivate will definitely come in handy. The Samsung Captivate features Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Google integration, allows easy sharing and synching with AllShare, makes typing a breeze with Swype functionality, and will not only help you stay connected, but will also allow you to receive and get information out quicker.

Bad: Camera Quality

With modern day smartphones, 8, 10, and even 12 megapixel cameras aren't uncommon, but the 5 megapixel camera of the Samsung Captivate is like that of a smartphone from "yester-year". Not only does the Samsung Captivate only offer a paltry 5 megapixel camera and shoddy video capturing quality, but the 5 megapixel camera of the Captivate is missing a flash '" which makes its quality even worse.

Overall: Good

After measuring the many pros and cons of the Samsung Captivate, it's fair to say that the good outweighs the bad and although the Samsung Captivate has a shoddy camera and battery it's entertainment, social, hardware, display and other features more than make up for its shortcomings.
