Prose: Food for Thought About Doing the Dishes

Jenny Heart
Let the dish washing begin, and simply relax, and listen to the calming suds floating down the drain along with all your troubles. A hidden message you may find at the end.

It means time for reflection and much food for thought. It's a woman's time to just ponder each dish as a handful of thought.
Dishes are dirty and filled with mess mess. If you need a moment in time to just think things through, your dishes are waiting to help ponder you through. You know you'll always see more than a dish or two.
Pots and pans are big and bold. They need special cleaning to shine and be put up right. Pots and pans can represent our loudest hello. It just needs a pondering heart that'll never let go.

Silverware is dull like our past memories; however it'll shines when its owner shows it cares properly. Shining our past just takes lots of care. It just takes a little shine here, and a little shine there.

Glasses smudge easy like mirrors often do. Our lives are a big smudge on our looking glass of life. It just needs a wipe and a shine. Our lives will be more splendid if our mirror can see us plainly. So don't forget to kiss your glass with a puff of your life breathing air. You'll then help your life shine each day bright and keep misery out of sight. Do this with all your might.

The dishes are done now and calm fills the air. It's not just clean dishes you have put on the shelf, it's a day full of emotion that came front and center. These dishes once held your dirty emotions smeared wide and far apart. Dishes are now stacked nice and neat along with your emotion as well. They're put away until tomorrow thoughts awake within you as well.

Echoes of hunger thirst within you each day. Why not turn to your dishes and have a moment or two, to just reflect on your life and its purpose for you. Never let a single dirty glass hide, far the hold on you may cost you a night full of slumber one night. You wouldn't want that, it wouldn't be right.

Clean your dishes everyday and watch all your troubles just simply fade away

I love washing the dishes, but my youngest daughter does not. I am passing this one onto her so that maybe she can have a new perspective on it.

Very interesting view on dish washing. I like this! My mother loves to clean and wash dishes. I don't. Maybe this will help me the next time I do them.
