Prosecutors Had Their Last Shot at Casey Anthony Today

Prosecutors at the Casey Anthony trial had their last shot today during closing arguments. Prosecutor Jeff Ashton told the courtroom that Casey's murdered little Caylee Marie Anthony because of her age. Meaning that Caylee was getting old enough to talk about what her mother was and wasn't doing. Namely, Casey was spending more and more time with her boyfriend, spending days and nights with him. Casey didn't want her parents, Cindy and George, to find out that or the fact that Casey wasn't working, or taking care of Caylee herself. Little kids talk and Casey didn't want that to happen.

The defense team will have their last chance to explain why Casey didn't murder Caylee Marie Anthony. After that it is up to the 12 men and women of the jury to determine if Casey is guilty of first degree murder or any of the other charges such as aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child as well as four counts of providing false information to law enforcement, in other words lying. And lie she did. Casey Anthony is probably one of the best liars we've heard in a long time. She even bragged to her friend that she is a good liar. The lies are about to come back and bite her.

It has been a rough ride for the family. It surely cannot be easy having a daughter that is accused of murder. Even worse is that the person she is accused of murdering was her own daughter. But our main concern should be for Caylee Marie Anthony. That little girl's life was cut short. Although there is no smoking gun to indicate the murderer, all lies point to Casey Anthony. Justice needs to be served.

Why has so much emphasis been put on Casey Anthony and this particular murder? That's a good question. But then again, why did we sit and watch a white Bronco drive down a California highway for hours with O.J. Simpson inside. O.J.'s trial gave us hours of courtroom drama and people love drama. People want to know the details of everything. With the internet, it's instantaneous.

It is almost over as far as the Casey Anthony trial is concerned. Once the jury gets the case, deliberations could be fast. The jury will be given instructions by Judge Perry and they will be on their way to the biggest decision of their lives. Let's hope it is the right one for all concerned.
