The question of patriarchy may be raised using this commoditization as a rape with the power of money. Money is acting as a pulse forcing to offer body reluctantly and therefore there is no actual consent and it's a rape with the power of money. It is a gospel fact that Money is plays an important factor and is ruling the world. If this is the case than no work is judged as even a mere labor is under the compulsion of petty money that he receives and in fact the whole world. More or less everyone has a grudge against their profession but accepts because money is ruling. Therefore he is literally raped by his work with the power of money. But neither is it abandoned nor a finger is crossed than why it should be with prostitution. A peasant is never happy with the money he is offered and if prostitution can be termed as business of flesh than this physical labor should be termed as business of sucking blood.
Society too plays a crucial role by influencing the cause in a moral or ethical way. But one will have to agree to the context that moral and ethical values changes from society to society and from time to time. What is seen as an ethical in one society may be disregarded by the other and same is the case where prostitution is legalized in some society while in other, it is abandoned. The common reason is that the cultural and traditional values may have offered such morality and as a result one is molded to perceive in that particular way. Therefore it cannot be treated as a platform to gauge anything right or wrong. It needs logical reasoning backed with some eligible sense and lot of questioning to locate the hindrance and not just perpetuating on the beliefs of past.
We are socially constructed and designed in such a way that it is often looked with a sense of vulgarity and against social constraints. If the same society is molded to perceive this prostitution as a profession like other common profession , a day will be there when the same children who dream of being doctors, engineers, managers or politicians would also dream of being sex workers too but the case is, only when society treat it at par like other profession. When something is actually wrong, the whole world supports it like terrorism. But when something is right, the same world take endeavors to reform it and move towards development which too can be seen for prostitutes who are now treated as sex workers. It's an indication that exposes our broad understanding but it needs everyone's approval as many are there who are still against it. They need to be awakened consciously by logical reasoning and rational questioning of every hinges. Only than one can realize that prostitution should be legalized just as other professions are.
One may raise the question of trafficking of girls would increase in which young girls are abducted and sold in the market. Legalizing does not mean mere allowance of government rather it should come with a defined set of rules and regulations where they should be physically and psychologically tested. Trafficking is a crime as it deliberately compels someone to do that job and hampers ones right which is same as in other activities of life. When it is legalized it should be in full force with all the terms and conditions and with best considerations and not mere consent of authorities. Similarly, whatever issue can be predicted should be treated with maximum potent and enforcement of rules and laws. This is what the coming generation generally believes and you?
