I have had my wrist bandaged up, and also had a support product, that went around my hand, and then wrapped around my wrist. At the end of the day the ache, and pain was still there.
My husband, Len, tends to use a desktop more than the laptop, so we headed out to find him some relief. I told him that I am sure we both have carpal tunnel, but neither of us wanted surgery at this moment.
We were in Super Wal-Mart about a month ago, and I saw a Memory Foam Mouse Mat. It was in a totally sealed package, but it stated that it was, 'Premium memory foam that conforms to wrist for optimal comfort'. The price was $9.95.
We brought it home, and Len used a box cutter, to open it up.
It is nine and a quarter inches in depth, and eight and a half inches at it's widest part. The bottom two and a half inches in around an inch high. The rest of it is an eighth of an inch high. The back of it is shiny, and slightly sticky to the touch. Once it is put on the desk it doesn't move.
So we put it by Len's computer, and laid the mouse on the flat part. He then rested his wrist on the bottom part, that is higher. The memory foam actually gives/moves slightly, so that your wrist doesn't have any pressure on it. The fingers move, and the hand slightly, but the wrist stays in one position.
Although I do most of my writing on my laptop, I do use Len's computer from time to time. I was so delighted with this Memory Foam Mouse Mat. When he is out of the house, I go over to his computer, to give my wrist a rest.
What HandStands says about it's product:
"Ultimate in comfort and performance.
Ergonomic design supports wrist in a natural position.
Antimicrobial properties built-in to protect the product from odors and stains.
Performance surface for precise tracking and control.
Guaranteed to work with all mice."
Len's and my wrists are not better, but the constant use of the computers, would have made them worse. This is a keeper for us.

Post a CommentThis sounds similar to something we have. You can rest your wrist on the foam, which does help. Thanks for pointing that out.
I will have to get one of these. It sounds like something I can really use.
