Protecting Children from Sexual Predators

There May Just Be Child Molesters in Your Area!

Matthew Schieltz
There seems to be more child molesters on the street today than there were just ten years ago. It seems that no matter where you go there are child molesters and sexual predators roaming the street. It is more crucial than ever to be able to know how to protect your child from a sexual predator. Parents should definitely do everything in their power to prevent their child from being a victim of one of the many convicted sex offenders in their neighborhood or town. And even though you think you might live in safe neighborhood, you could be wrong! I researched my own neighborhood and was appalled to find that several registered sex offenders live just nearly a mile down from me.

The internet has a plethora of resources that parents can use to gather tips to protect their children from a horrible crime. One important tool to use is to visually be able to see where child molesters and registered sex offenders are living within your neighborhood. Fortunately, there are resources out there that will give you this information for free! The Family Watchdog is one such resource. All you have to do is type in your address or your city that you live in and Family Watchdog will give you a map pinpointing the registered sex offenders that live near you. This may be helpful if you have just moved to a new town or neighborhood or if you are planning to move.

Aside from being able to see on Family Watchdog where sex offenders live, there are some other ways that you can prevent your child from being a victim of a sex offender. One of these ways is to know who your child's friends and parents are. If you blindly and naively let your child go over to one of their friends' houses without first meeting their parents, that could turn out to be a big mistake. Even though it doesn't seem like you should have cause for worry because your child is just hanging out with his or her friends, taking this one act of prevention could save you and your child a whole lot of heartache!

Another way you can prevent your child from being a victim of a sex offender is to supervise your child at all times. The fact of the matter is that over half of child molestation cases occur with children under 12 years old. Even though you may think your neighborhood is safe enough to let your child go out and play whenever he or she wants, it would be a good idea to keep a close watch on him or her. I live in a neighborhood where the children are let free basically to do whatever they want. But in that very moment that a parent is not watching, a registered sex offender who is looking for their next victim could easily snatch up one of these precious children!

A parent's whole goal should be to keep their children as safe as possible, and these are some definite methods that a responsible adult can take to assure that harm to their children will be prevented! Using your common sense and a little caution will definitely go a long way in preventing child sexual abuse to your child!

This is a good article highlighting the urgency of protecting children from child molesters. Children are our most precious resource. Unfortunately, because of their vulnerability, children are popular targets for molesters, drug dealers, and other predators. Children are most at risk of violence when they are traveling between school and home or in their immediate neighborhood. I am a mother of a 12 year old daughter and I worry about her safety. I found out that there are ways that parents can do to reduce the risk that children will be assaulted. One of these helpful ways is by using the "safekidzone" service. In this service, people can learn how best to prevent crime and what to do if they do fall victim. You will find more ideas in this site http://safekidzone.com/

There is a child molester out there. He molested me and I feel the world should know. My own mother protected him from the law. Now I came across another molester on FBook. Where can we post the names of these sob's?
