There are military personnel coming home broken in body and mind. There are hardly any people greeting them as they return and even fewer saying goodbye as they leave to do their duty. The ones that come back have to fight to get the much needed medical attention they deserve. There are no protests for them. There is no one telling the media how much they need their treatments. They are our fellow citizens of the human race. But remember the case of the professional football player and the dogs?
Another professional football player was awaken from sleep, tried to defend his family and home and was gunned down by intruders. They have arrested the people who are reported to be the assailants. There are people devastated by Katrina and her sister Rita. These people still live in trailers. Some can never go home. There are some who need medical attention, but they cannot get it because they do not have a permanent address. There are no protests for these our human neighbors. A very prominent radio personality degraded our children by calling them "nappy headed hoes". Oh yes there were protest for a moment. He recently got a better job than the one before-where are the protesters?

There are drive by shootings daily in some parts of these United States, there are no protest about these events. As our sons and daughters and sometimes our friends are innocently gunned down, there are no protests. Remember the dogs and the professional football player?

Drugs are in every neighbor including the so called good neighborhoods. Our children, our friends even our mothers are becoming addicted. There is no protest. Remember the dogs and the professional football player?

People are losing their homes to foreclosure daily. They are becoming homeless in the blink of an eye. There is no protest. Remember the dogs and the professional football player?
No, I am not a person who is fond of dogs, I like cats. More importantly, I love my fellow siblings of the human race. While we are protesting for the safety of our furry four legged friends who I know cannot protest themselves, let's remember that sometimes our fellow two legged friends need someone to protest for their rights when they can't.
