Psalm 21

" 1O LORD, in Your strength the king will (A)be glad,
And in Your [a]salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
2You have (B)given him his heart's desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.
3For You (C)meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a (D)crown of fine gold on his head.
4He asked life of You,
You (E)gave it to him,
(F)Length of days forever and ever.
5His (G)glory is great through Your [b]salvation,
(H)Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
6For You make him most (I)blessed forever;
You make him joyful (J)with gladness in Your presence.
7For the king (K)trusts in the LORD,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High (L)he will not be shaken.
8Your hand will (M)find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9You will make them (N)as a fiery oven in the time of your anger;
The LORD will (O)swallow them up in His wrath,
And (P)fire will devour them.
10Their [c]offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their [d](Q)descendants from among the sons of men.
11Though they (R)intended evil against You
And (S)devised a plot,
They will not succeed.
12For You will (T)make them turn their back;
You will aim (U)with Your bowstrings at their faces.
13Be exalted, O LORD, in Your strength;
We will (V)sing and praise Your power."

This is the very form of content thought. The king is not worrying because he gains his strength from God in his persecutions and trials. The people will rejoice in Christ for their salvation. Relying on God the King gets the requests of his lips and desires of his heart. Even the crown was a blessing from God as were the various good and bad times of his life. However, I also think that this psalm points towards Jesus being victorious also in the future. Both King David and Jesus Christ suffered a similar road, and both became kings at the end. They both ruled over kingdoms that were promised to them by their Father. What shall happen to the enemies who intend to keep people away from the will of God in their lives. Both of these king's enemies were destroyed. So what shall happen?
