Synopsis:Shawn and Gus are recruited into a think tank to help prevent the murder of a business tycoon, but once the group has disbanded, they realize that one of the members plans to use the assassination ideas to kill the client instead of save him.
There are SPOILERS in this recap.
Shawn and Gus have just finished solving a case as only the know how when a man by the name of Snowden offers them a tremendous opportunity. Snowden is putting together a think tank of brilliant minds in order to figure out how to keep billionaire Ashton Bonaventure safe from any assassination attempts.
Being offered $8,500 a day, a gigantic trampoline, and a whole lot of Big League Chew...Shawn of course accepts the position. After providing information with three other experts; Shawn and Gus return back to gloat at Lassie but also seek out a bit of help. It's then that Shawn's psychic abilities make him realize the think tank was honestly just a huge ruse in order to get ideas on how to assassinate Bonaventure, not keep him safe.
Soon a cat-and-mouse game goes into motion as Shawn and Gus must get back together with the think tank in order to figure out how Snowden plans on murdering Bonaventure. Considering he has done a decent enough job already; Shawn is put in charge by Bonaventure in hopes of keeping him alive so he can make his huge important business announcement. Shenanigans happen along with some good psychic work to sniff out Snowden hiding in an air duct and ready with rifle in hand, but it was easy...a little too easy and now Shawn figures out that the case is not yet over.
"Think Tank" is a good episode that follows the trend of the series rather well with plenty of comedy, a good and creative plot. and a lot of one-liners. There was a bit of an issue though and it's that there wasn't enough action. All of the time spent in the think tank room (both of them) took up close to twenty or twenty-five minutes of just some random observations. Kind of boring at times honestly and I was looking forward to each scene being over.
Don't get me wrong because it is really a funny episode, but it waas just sort of dull and actually a bit predictable. From the moment that Shawn and Gus arrived in the think tank room; I could figure out that someone in that room would be the one in charge of the whole conspiracy. Now I wasn't prepared for the second shooter, but my assumptions of the think tank room killer then were proven doubly right.
Take the recent "You Can't Handle This Episode" that guest-starred WWE superstar John Cena. It had a great plot, tremendous humor, but also contained plenty of action in way of guns being drawn and some military action. "Think Tank" contained far too much conversation that wasn't even essential to anything going on.
There also wasn't enough Juliet which hopefully is not a continuing trend. Luckily the end credits treated us to an accapella version of "I'm Too Sexy" sung by Lassiter complete with catwalk dance. Well worth the wait.
