Psychic Advantage or Disadvantage? - the Sixth Sense

Tana Hoy
Are you familiar with that very popular movie line "I see dead people"? If you can recall, this was from the Hollywood hit, The Sixth Sense. In the that movie, Bruce Willis portrayed the role of this dead guy who didn't even know he was dead. Can you imagine being that child with the psychic ability to see the spirits of those who have passed on? Yes, it's nerve wrecking perhaps. But then, the sixth sense is a psychic ability, and a psychic power is supposed to be a gift that gives you an advantage over everyone else. But is the sixth sense an advantage or a disadvantage?

Generally speaking, every normal person has five senses. These are the sense of sight where ninety percent of our learning takes place by seeing, the sense of hearing, the sense of smell, the sense of touch and lastly, the sense of taste. But what is this so-called sixth sense?

People refer to the sixth sense as ESP or extra sensory perception. The sixth sense is the psychic talent or skill to transmit and receive information outside the five human senses through the "third eye". The third eye is an invisible eye that is located between your eyebrows, in the center of your forehead.

The sixth sense is a bit complicated compared to any other psychic ability. This is because the sixth sense is composed of not just one, but five other psychic abilities namely telepathy, psychometry, clairvoyance, retrocognition, and precognition.

Getting a closer look at these five abilities that make up the sixth sense, telepathy is defined to be the psychic gift to communicate mind to mind; no verbal or written communication is needed. On the other hand, psychometry is the skill that you can gather information about an object, person, or place's history just by touching it. Clarivoyance allows a person to see things regardless of boundaries. While the last two gifts of retrocognition and precognition are somewhat related to each other. Retrocognition is the ability to know the past through visions and feelings; while precognition is to knowing the future in the same way.

As you can obviously see, the sixth sense is a psychic ability that is more than just being able to see spirits and other paranormal bodies. The sixth sense is a special psychic gift that gives you the power to communicate, touch, and hear, what other people cannot.

Though we cannot deny that the thought of seeing, talking, and interacting with spirits of those who have passed on does sound scary; if properly used, this psychic gift can foster greater good. Being able to sense what others cannot gives you the extraordinary power to make a difference in this world.

Just like any psychic gift, the sixth sense can be enhanced. A person needs acceptance, meditation, and positivity, in order to hone the full potential of this rare ability. The bottom line is, the sixth sense is a psychic blessing. Being able to sense what others cannot is a big advantage. Why? It is because it gives you the chance to make the world a better place.
