I come from psychic lineage. I've got 5 sisters- all of whom are professional psychics. I am one too.
One of my sisters, Maya lives in a small country town. The town and Shire are home to around 2,000 people. In our part of the world this is a largish small town. At one stage this town was home to four of my sisters. Now Maya is the only one left still living there.
My sister is a larger than life person, a kind of town celebrity. Every Thursday lunch time a number of local women gather together to have lunch at a local eatery of choice. In previous years they lovingly penned themselves 'the fat tarts', but later, due to pressures of being politically correct they renamed themselves the 'succulent goddesses'.
Each Thursday lunch time a tin is always placed in the middle of the table for 'loose change etc'. This loose change is used for performing random acts of kindness. Well actually I think they put more in than only loose change and quite of few of our colorful Aussie currency notes get thrown in too. I became a bit intrigued about their practice - and its actual practical workings.
On a recent visit I asked her how they worked out to spend and distribute this money. She said they usually heard stuff on the town grapevine and that more recently community clubs such as RSL and Rotary would inform them of people in distress.
When I asked her how they gave this money out she said that usually they would put it in an envelope under the recipients' door, and these envelopes would be delivered in the darkness of night with no info about where it came from. Sometimes, she said that they would ring up utility agencies and pay bills directly on behalf of people in need.
Maya told me some wonderful heart warming stories; such as the time one family lost their Christmas presents in a fire and all the succulent goddesses got together to buy them presents - such as bikes for the kids etc.
In my smaller wheatbelt town there's certainly not a weekly, succulent goddesses lunch regime. Not a gourmet morsel to be found in our plain wheat farming town. Still I must remember to bring this idea up next time I meet with Stella, over fresh ricotta or dukka dipped Turkish bread. Stella and I often joke that we are the town gourmets and should start up a food interest group or something to get the farmers' wives to try some continental fare. Maya's town boasts great eco-tourism trade.
Anyways when I was in my sister's town for Christmas 2005 - a family gathering something akin to the Big Chill 'cept it kept on going for about a week, my sister Maya mentioned to me that she was gonna win 1st division lotto (aka lottery in USA). I thought no more of it.
Now my sister Maya is a remarkable woman. She is a Reiki Master, does rebirthing, reads crystals and tarot and has had her own east-coast syndicated radio show plus done a whole other array of remarkable things.
She is a very, very funny person too. I mean ha-ha ROFL funny. I believe she is currently communing with nature on a south New Zealand glacier somewhere where she has been dropped by a helicopter pilot, along with supplies of skating boots, arctic gear and champagne wearing a shirt (or hat) that says, "Fat Tarts for Global Cooling".
She preaches prosperity and abundance thinking. I always took issue with this - countering that, "2% of the world population owns 98% of the wealth", and telling her to, "go read some sociology". Something like that.
The whole notion of this prosperity and abundance thinking stuff seemed rotten at the core somewhere to me. She dismissed me as, "the poor and negative thinking family intellectual". We would often banter about such things. And she never did become interested in Marx, Durkheim or Robert Theobald.
Anyways my birthday this year (2006) was gazumped; trumped by the news she posted into the family newsgroup. That jammy bitch won 1st division lotto!!
And Sheesh - it really shook me up. 3 of my sisters were part of her syndicate. Jammy bitches - plural.
Sister Maya along with a couple of my other psychic sisters even starred in an infotainment program on TV wearing gypsy baubles and staring into a crystal ball.
I recently had a holiday with her. Down in 'her town' - where if they didn't know her before the win they for sure and certain do so now. It was 5 endless days of gourmet food. Here for breakfast, there for lunch - where's dinner tonight?
And she always paid. Maya's syndicate had 21 women. It was the first time 1st division had been pulled in their small and humble town. I'll tell you all how they spent their money in another blog.
On my trip I met so many interesting women, all of them who shared and won Lotto. And I so enjoyed finding out how people had spent (or not spent) their money. A few of them, as we speak are now sitting on that Glacier.
Besides for the evening that we spent talking about random acts of kindness and various adventures we have had being psychic detectives I also asked her what she thought the most important factors were in winning lotto. It was a very late night/early morning).
I guess you all want to know her answer/s?
Well - she told me that one day a few years ago when her present husband was on the verge of bankruptcy she put a ten dollar note in to her wallet, never to be touched. To this note she assigned the belief that "there will always be plenty".
And she also said that the random acts of kindness were important to ensure that money keeps flowing, not becoming constipated in your life. Money is, as her husband says, "not really ours".
Then she said it was 'merely' an act of faith, in believing that she would be well looked after, combined with the 'knowing' that the 1st division win was coming their way soon.
As simple as that she said.
In another article I might tell you how not to win lotto, which is more profound than it sounds. I've had some very interesting encounters with lotto. And recently - the weekend before I visited Maya I won it too. More on all this later.

I'm also a firm believer in prosperity thinking. As you, I've spent many hours poring over philosophy and science. Only recently have I began to really focus my energy into thinking prosperity. It does work for me. Nice article!
