The PBS website is known for its various media programs and educational materials. It is a non-profit organization whose website is one example of how it intends to promote lifelong learning. On the right side of the homepage are three predominantly displayed links, PBS Kids, PBS Parents, and PBS TeacherSource. The PBS TeacherSource link categorizes lessons and activities by subject and grade levels. The author or well-known educational site responsible for the material is listed as well. While the lessons do not always go into great depth, they do suggest curriculum links, questions, activities, a focus, and resources. The link also provides book and media suggestions.

Reflections: I visit this website often because it is informative, and I respect the organization's efforts to provide the public with free television, music, and educational materials. The variety of resources is helpful in planning curriculum that appeals to multiple learning styles. I am always looking for suggestions and interesting ways to incorporate tactile, kinesthetic, and visual activities into my units. Those learning styles tend to appear frequently in classes. Many of the lessons on this website effectively address the multiple intelligences as well as higher level thinking by posing how and why questions.

Definitely bookmark this site.
