I have spent well over 70 hours observing numerous teachers in the Bowling Green area. I have observed at Greenwood High School, Warren East High School, Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green Junior High School. All of the schools have at least a few slight differences. I am here to give you an idea on how Bowling Green High School compares to the rest of the public schools in the Bowling Green city limits.

First of all, let's talk about location. Bowling Green High School, without a doubt, has the best location of the four Bowling Green area high schools. It is nestled in the center of a residential portion of the city just a half mile away from Campbell Lane(one of the busiest roads in Bowling Green). Warren Central is located on a side road near the college campus of Western Kentucky University so sometimes the commute over their is difficult. And both Warren East and Greenwood High School are located on the outskirts of opposite sides of Bowling Green. Bowling Green High School is pretty much right in the center of town and is located in a very nice residential community.

The school buidling is one of the older buildings in Bowling Green but it has been well maintained over the years. Many of the classrooms are very spacious and none that I observed seem to be overcrowded with students. The entire academic complex of the school is located in the main buidling. There are other smaller buildings around the school's campus but they are for athletic purposes only.

Bowlng Green High has a great reputation for academic excellence. They are number one or two in nearly every academic category in the city. Their test scores generally rank above average in every subject. Of the teachers I have observed, they all were very good at coming up with original and/or interesting ways of presenting their subject's material. Also, Bowling Green is one of the best schools for your child to go to if you want them to go to college. It's rate of sending it's graduates to college is much higher than Warren East and Warren Central High School.

Besides being a great academic school for your chidl, Bowling Green High School also has lots of extracurricular activities that it offers. Among these activities, athletics are especially stressed at this school. They have a state-of-the-art domed swimming pool for their swim team. Also they have always been a contender in basketball, and they better be because basketball is king in Kentucky. However, the sport where the Bowing Green Purples have made the most strides over the years is football. They have boasted one of the state's best teams in the last few years. They have made a couple of trips to the Kentucky High School State Championship in the last few years.

So if you are looking for a public school to send your child to this fall, Bowling Green High School is an excellent choice. The school's location, academics, and athletics are all good reasons for Bowling Green High School to be your choice this fall.
