Public High School Vs. Private High School

Every year, there are hundreds of foreign students go to United States of America to study high school. Some of them go to public high school. The others go to private high school. Public high school and private high school; what is the better choice? I think for the foreign students, public high school is better than private high school because of: cheaper expenses, challenging classes, and making friend easier.

There is one thing that everybody can see that public high school is much cheaper than private high-school. In public high school, you have free tuition, free books, free lunch and free transportation. In private high school, the annual tuition is about 12 000 dollars! And the books and lunches will cost you about 3000 dollars every year! So the annual expenses for private high school will be 15 000 dollars! Even when you can get the financial aid, it will still cost a lot of money. This is a big problem for foreign students who are not very wealthy.

Many people think that when you attend college, you have a bigger chance if you were a private high school student. But no matter what you may hear through the grapevine, colleges don't care if you have attended a private or public high school. Admission officers like "diversity," so that means admitting students from all sorts of backgrounds. We often think private high school students adjust better academically and socially to college than public high school students because of their experiences. For instance, if your public high school offers challenging classes (such as Advanced Placement and honors courses) and you elect to take as many of these as possible, then not only will you be preparing yourself for a rigorous college experience, but also you will be in class every day with others, like yourself, who are bright and motivated and are not afraid of hard work.

When you comes from another country, you are a foreigner in the eyes of the American, especially American kids. So it will be difficult for you to make friends or join the activities in the community of the class. Anyway, if you study in a public high school you can join the activities in the community of the class and make friends easier than in private high school. Because most of the students in private high school are very rich, they often want their friends to be rich or who just use money as the way they use it. So after studying in private high school, a lot of students become very mean and close. In public high school, the students are often more friendly and generous, so it will be easier for you a lot to make many friends. And if it is a small public high school, everybody knows everybody, so everyone just want to make friends with you, a different guy. How wonderful!

So, for the foreign students wanting to study high school in United States, when you don't know what to choose between private high school or public high school, I think you should choose public high school!

This is niave reporting. If you want only a year experience then you can go to public school. The school will not demand much of you academically but you will learn about the culture. If you want to go to a private school%2C there are many cheaper ones than what you have stated. Private schools will help you bridge the %22gap%22 to univeristy and they will demand that you actually pass the class. Their name will be on your dipolma and they want to ensure that you will suceed at university. You need to look into the law before writting such an article.

Its not whether you go to a private high or public high school, its how hard you are prepared to work when you get there. My daughter has been in both private and good public schools and the actual education is about the same in both, so you are not paying for better tuition when you go private. Work hard to get into a good college, make sure you are well rounded and you've got a good shot at a good college.

    Interesting side note:
I attended private school and my family is not at all rich. Nor were most of the students in my high school, although there was a handful of affluent snobs. Each private school is different, and I don't think the experience should be written off based on a negative stereotype.

Interesting, but books, transportation, and lunch were never free at my public high school
