RESOLUTION

Be it resolved that Reverend Al Sharpton has established a well known personality as an individual that believes he has a responsibility to the public to protect the citizenry from the outrageous and/or illegal behavior of government officials and others that fail to serve high standards of behavior, ethics, civility and concern for the well being and welfare of others.

  1. Reverend Sharpton aspires to the highest ideals of honesty, truthfulness, impartiality and objectivity and furthermore seeks to establish racial harmony and cooperation amongst the diverse cultural, ethnic and religious population of the United States. This has been aptly demonstrated in his past crusades against bigotry and embodied itself early in his career in the Tawana Brawley episode that occurred in New York City in 1987.

  2. Reverend Sharpton has been credited by news organizations with the following quote "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house" and referring to Jews as "diamond merchants."

  3. Reverend Sharpton recently voluntarily appeared to establish himself as the monitor for what could be termed offensive public remarks and therefor assumed a position of great public trust and responsibility for protecting American radio show audiences from offensive remarks.

  4. Reverend Sharpton voluntarily led the attack against talk show host Don Imus and may have played a critical role in the his firing due to the publicly offensive remarks made by the said Don Imus.

  5. Now, it has been ascertained that Reverend Sharpton has made what many have categorized as offensive remarks about one Mitt Romney, a candidate for President of the United States. Reverend Sharpton appeared to be the purveyor of insensitive comments about the religion practiced by the said Mitt Romney.

Now let it be resolved that under the provisions of "what is good for the goose is good for the gander" the signers of this public petition call for the immediate firing of Reverend Al Sharpton from his radio talk show.

Dear JimmiBoi - 06/03/2007 & last but not least: Rowdy Bob 05/15/2007 -

It's people like you that make this country appear even more bigoted than it actually is. You two and others of like ilk have the audacity to criticize Reverend Sharpton. You can't stand in his shadow. I'm not a folower of the Reverend but I have lived long enough to experience the day-by-day bigotry perpertrated by bigoted white's from New York to Florida - - 60 years of it. You gotta be a black person to begin to have any true real idea of what it's like to be a black man in America.

I followed the entire Tawana Brawley episode. The Reverend was right on the money. She was raped by those white men. They are less than men. What happened to the rape kit that mysteriously disappeared. Their story was weak. The court's verdict in finding them not guilty was ridged. If I were one of them, I could not bare to look another woman in the face without feeling deeply ashamed. The bottom line is; they got off scot fr

Al Sharpton speaks up for minorities. What about the stealing, lying, and deception of some white and even sell out African Americans? Some people are good folk and some are bad, it's not the person's race it's the person.

Good grief, that's the most non-CP comments I ever saw on one article! Congrats.

Al never studied theology or led a church anywhere. He dropped out of Brooklyn College and went on the road with James Brown, where his hairdressing budget would embarrass John Edwards. He insists on being called reverend because, as a child, he accompanied a famous preacher on the road. That preacher "ordained" him (as a child) in thanks for the money that they raised together. Al intentionally lied about Tawana Brawley. When this was proven in court, he still did not take responsibility and let his friends pay his judgment. It is time for him to shut up.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been and still are 2 of the biggest racists and bigots in this country. They think they can say anything they want and get away with ot, but let a few white guys say something they do not approve they raise hell and demand them to be fired. It is noe Sharptons' turn to loose his job and shut him up.
