When the weather is bright and sunny, it's always instinct to want to do something active outdoors. What better way to have fun and get some exercise than playing a game of tennis. There are numerous public tennis courts in the Dallas, Texas area for people to utilize for free. Kiest Park is in the Oak Cliff area of Southwest Dallas and is one of the largest parks in the city at about 264 acres. There are park trails, a children's playground, athletic fields, gardens, picnic areas, and a Recreation center. The tennis courts are top-notch and usually are not crowded. There is also a publicly managed tennis center where you can pay a fee to utilize the indoor courts. There are public port-a-potties throughout the park.

Everglade Park is located in East Dallas. The park is of average size with a children's playground and a swimming pool. It's also located near the Skyline Branch Library. The tennis courts are on an elevated hill. The concrete courts are gated and have lights. Usually this court can be busy because it's where the Skyline High School tennis team practices, but since there are so many courts, you'll probably find an empty one. it's a good place to work on your backhand. There are public port-a-potties located at the park.

Cole Park is located in the North Dallas area next to North Dallas High School off of I-75. The park is nice and is located near the Uptown area that offers cafes and restaurants and other social entertainment. You can also find tennis partners or strike up a tennis club through the Cole Park Tennis on Facebook.

Some other nice public tennis courts in the Dallas area are Samuel Grand Tennis Center, Tietze Park, and Ridgewood Park. No matter where you live in the city there is bound to be a public tennis court located near you. Check out www.tennismaps.com for more details.
