Pug Abuse Aired on YouTube?
I am the owner of two rescue Pugs so I understand what life can be like for these adorable little creatures when they are struggling just to survive and find a loving home.
Last night my daughter happened to show me an adorable Pug video on You Tube that a user created. It showed a Mommy Pug and all her babies playing and having a good time, the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
I noticed to the right side of the web page that there were at least thirty different user submitted videos related to the pug and I watched several of them. Then there was one video titled "Retard Pug", it captured my attention so unfortunately I decided to play it.
I was in tears after just a few minutes of watching this tasteless video. It was about animal abuse and "special needs" Pugs. There were no other animals but Pugs in the video. It was one thing for them to air this video to share with others the horrendous effects of animal abuse and poor care, I think it is good in most cases for others to see what condition a lot of animals can be in, but what really set me off is they were bashing the breed tremendously and used the pictures as a joke to harass the breed itself.
The video displayed subtitles such as "Retarded Pugs", "Stupid Pugs", "Pugs must die!", "Pugs are the scum of the earth and never should have been created!", "Pugs are a disgrace to the dog breed and need to burn in Hell!" Then they were making fun of Pugs that only had one eye, Pugs that were in wheelchairs or required assistance, very elderly Pugs who were blind and deformed and Pugs that had lost body parts and were mangled. They ended the photo slide shows with music and captions that these Pugs deserved to have these unfortunate circumstances stowed upon them!
The really disturbing part was at the end of the video, the last couple of minutes they showed Pugs who were emaciated and struggling to survive. They appeared to be dying from worm and parasite infestations, and the worst I saw was a Pug so bitten and eaten up by fleas, mites and ticks that it was skinny, bloody, crusty and appeared to be on the brink of death! They also showed a Pug laying down with a shot being injected into its mouth. The captions were reading "Pugs are retardo and retarded and they deserve what's coming to them."
I ended up reporting the video three times and left comments to the user that they should be highly reprimanded for displaying the abuse in such a distasteful manner. If they were anyway involved in any type of abuse against a Pug or any other animal that they should face jail time, or face me which would be much worse!
Pugs and all Canines are meant to be Man's best friend. Many times they can not defend themselves against unwilling predators and abusive owners, and it should be our responsibility that they are taken care of properly, and if need be Euthanized with dignity and respect, under the care of a licensed Veterinarian.

Post a Commentpugs r the most predictable dogs around, they are unfailingly loyal and incredibly affectionate. they have highly defined personalities and anyone who has owned one will know how very much human like they are. i own a retriever and a setter too and love all dogs, but my pugs (all 5 of them)have tht extra something i cant define. i will not be able to view the abuse video on youtube, infact what kind of person wud refer to a pug as a retard? how ridiculous and demented is tht? some real lowlife with a limited vocab to match his limited iq, is out there probably picking his nose n scratchin his balls as i write, while he tries to work out y the #@*$ he was born in the first place. i bein a hindu believ in rebirth and hope all such people are reborn as pug food in their next lives!!!
I don't like Pugs however I don't think any animal should be abused in any way. Hope those abusers will get punished.
Pugs are perhaps the only breed that has as many negative and positive reviews. To the pug lovers who commented on this article, good for you that you have a lovable Pug. But there are some very dumb ones out there too who might have ticked off the owners which might have led to the abuse (which is wrong).
Take Golden Retrievers for example, it's quite a consistent breed in terms of behavior and intelligence. With Pugs the variance is really extreme.
Again if you love Pugs then good for you that you have come across a nice one.

I've got a year old pug, and dahlilah is in excellent health. Id love to get ahold of these people and show them what retarded really is. They need to get their butt kicked so far they become mentally frazzled and bug eyed. Ugh, mankind.
what a horrible thing. I would like to know if this is still on you tube because there are some organizations which should be aware of this--and can possibly track the people down.
That is so upsetting. How can people be so unkind? Pugs are such wonderful and faithful companions who deserve love and respect. Pugs are wonderful with children and adults alike. Pugs bless their companions with love. Besides, pugs have quite the history as a breed. They were royal dogs bred to keep the royal children company. There is no better breed to make children laugh and giggle with joy!

I can't watch things like that I hate animal or any kind of abuse, I would like to kill people who hurt them, i know that may be extreme but I hate it!
I own a wonderful pug...they are amazingly smart, a lot smarter then anything on you tube gives them credit for.
Wow that makes me so sad. Why would anyone do that!
