Pull-Ups Night-Time Training Pants vs GoodNites Underpants

Which is Better for Your Child to Wear for Overnight Dryness?

Wendy King
Potty training can take a while for a child to master. Remaining dry overnight can take even longer. While most children can be trained to stay dry all night long fairly easy, others may suffer from nocturnal enuresis (night time bedwetting) into their elementary school years and even beyond.

If your child is one of the children who is still having trouble staying dry at night, it can be a hassle. Do you put your child in underwear at night? While this may show the child that they are wetting the bed, it may lead to middle of the night wakings (and the child having difficulty going back to sleep), multiple sheet changes, and possibly a ruined mattress.

One of the easiest ways to protect clothing, sheets, and mattresses is to put your child in some type of disposable underwear.

There are two types of disposable underwear on the market that are made to be worn overnight. They are both made by Huggies. One is Huggies Pull-Ups Night-time Training Pants. The other is Huggies Pull-Ups GoodNites Underpants.

These two products seem to be the same, but are they really? What is the advantage of one over the other?

First, we will look at the product claims for both Pull-Ups Night-time and GoodNites.

Pull-Ups Night-time claims to be more absorbent than regular pull-ups and provide consistency in potty training. Like regular pull-ups, Pull-Ups Night-Time go on like regular underwear, but have break-away sides for easy clean-up in case of accidents.

GoodNites Underpants boasts odor control to hide the smell when accidents occur. They also claim to be trim. They have a custom panel to seal the wetness away from your child. Also, they come in underwear like designs.

Next, what sizes can Pull-Ups Night-Time and GoodNites Underpants be purchased in? Pull-Ups Night-Time is generally made for younger children. Therefore, they only come in sizes 2T-3T or 3T-4T. GoodNites Underpants are geared toward older children. They come in small, medium, large, and extra-large. The weight ranges go from 38lbs all the way to 125+lbs. This allows your child to wear GoodNites Underpants for as long as necessary.

What if your child is like mine and falls in a weight range that allows them to wear either Pull-Ups Night-Time or GoodNites Underpants? Which is better for your child.

I have tried both products on my child. Both seem comparable in quality. Both do the job intended. However, my son seems more comfortable in the GoodNites Underpants.

The downside to choosing GoodNites Underpants is they are more expensive than Pull-Ups Night-Time. For around $11.00 I can get 26 Pull-Ups Night-Time. For the same amount of money, GoodNites Underpants only contain 17 Underpants.

But, for the comfort of my child, I will purchase the more expensive GoodNites Underpants.

I'm 30 and am autistic, I use the English Dry Nites sometimes and they are fine, far better than some of the proper incontinence products like Tena.
