Pundits Ponder Palin Presidential Run

Sherry Tomfeld

Tucker Carlson (Fox News Contributor) and Christopher Hahn (Democratic Strategist) discussed a Presidential run by Sarah Palin this morning on Fox News. Usually there are pro and con stances, but once again, it is different when Sarah Palin is discussed.

Palin is going to be the keynote speaker at an Iowa Tea Party rally in early September. When this report surfaced, it sparked speculation that Palin would run for President. Both men showed their skepticism of a Palin win. However, neither man could ignore the potential Palin still has.

With no signs of a campaign staff put together, the men said it is doubtful if she decides to run. The fact that Bachmann is polling better than Palin is an issue too. The men said Palin gives no clear "plan" on the debt crisis. They also commented that Palin never gives solutions or clear- cut answers. Instead, she gives platitudes and talking points.

This viewer has a different take on Palin running for President. We all know that these 2 men and many other pundits will have a field day berating every sentence and move from Palin. Negativity is the media's specialty, and they have combed Palin's life completely. The impact of such reports has lost its zing.

Sarah Palin has a powerful, loyal base that the other candidates can only dream of. Palin can raise millions with a tweet that she is running. The Internet will have her up to speed with the other candidates in a flash. Palin draws thousands to rallies.

Maybe the reason she is not disclosing her "plan" for the debt crisis is because she will use it in her run. The media should be more concerned that the President does not have a "plan" for the debt crisis. The media should be reporting on the lack of leadership displayed by the President and Democrats. They are in office; they should have had plans months/years ago.

Sarah Palin is a sly fox. Her refusal to divulge her plans is driving the pundits wild. Huhn said Democrats would welcome her as a candidate. The Republicans, already divided over the debt discussions, are experiencing turmoil. If Palin runs for President, we can only imagine the alarm it will create in the party.

There is room for Palin to run for President, and there is plenty of time. I like the fact that a woman can make such a splash. Palin leaves me with the impression that she fears nothing, except letting her country down.
