The Puppy Bowl is a family friendly show that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The Puppy Bowl features animals at their most adorable, playing in a mock football field. A variety of puppies is let into a ring for a period of rough and tumble playtime. The referee tries to direct the animals in their playtime and eventually declares a winner.
Like football players are the stars of football, the puppies are the stars of the Puppy Bowl. There are cheer leading chickens on the sidelines.Fluffy ittens put on a half-time show for pure entertainment. The Puppy Cam takes viewers along on the adventure in the ring from the point of view of the rollicking puppy. Check out the water bowl cam, with hilarious views of the pups drinking from the bottom of the water bowl. The hamster crew keeps everything in order while the tail-gating fans sit on the sidelines and cheer, or just watch.
The Puppy Bowl starting lineup includes a Golden Retriever/Corgi mix, a Shepherd Mix, a Pug mix, Cocker Spaniel Mix, Border Terrier mix, Shih Tzu / Beagle mix, Yorkshire Terrier mix, Shih Tzu, Golden Retriever / Bulldog mix, Lab Mix, Shepherd mix, Siberian Husky, Brittany Spaniel / Schnauzer mix, Shih Tzu / Beagle mix, Rat Terrier / Lab / Hound mix, Great Pyrenees / Newfoundland mix, Yorkshire Terrier mix, Lab / Spaniel mix, Boxer mix and a Great Pyrenees.
The Puppy Bowl is great entertainment and fun to watch, but the program is also about animal adoptions. The animals featured in the Puppy Bowl have come from animal adoption agencies, which are listed in the animal profile on the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl website. If the stars of the Puppy Bowl have already been placed, other puppies, or grown dogs, may be available for adoption. Volunteering at Your Local Animal Shelter
According to a preview video on the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl website, the preproduction of the program begins in late summer, but much of the production takes place in a short time frame, as the puppies are gathered for the show and the pups are young. Since puppies grow up so fast, they must have to work quickly to produce the show once the puppies are selected.
The result is adorable. Who doesn't enjoy watching puppies at play? The game may not have the excitement of the Super Bowl game, but the Puppy Bowl has a cute factor that appeals to animal lovers of all ages.
Puppy Bowl airs on Super Bowl Sunday on Animal Planet.
